I took the boys to their first visit today with their new Pediatrician and he wants to test William for this blood disorder. He is displaying some signs that he may have it. I have NO idea what it actually is aside from a red blood cell issue. I am completely afraid to google it, so I have been a good girl and not done so.

Has he tested him for anything else? I did google it and the symptoms are fairly common for several diseases...It's very rare and usually found in men over 40. Good news is the blood test will tell you if he has it.

They are going to be testing for a range of red blood cell disorders. So I'll guess I'll just wait and see.

At least he's on top of it. Jessy had some similar signs with her heart defect and it can be very scary

I haven't heard of it, I hope you get some answers! What did he say about Nathaniel and the concussion? All clear?

Nathaniel got the all clear, but still have to be careful with hitting his head. Nathaniel has been extra careful with his head though. Doesn't through himself around like he used too. I think he is afraid to hurt himself again. Thanks for asking.

Yes it is. He becomes jaundiced very easily especially with certain meds, so the Ped said that is a sign of a Red Blood Cell disorder. It also causes kids to be frequently sick. William is always sick. I think in his 2 yrs of life he has maybe a month-6 weeks cold/flu/ear infection free.

Jessy was sick like every 2-4 weeks from birth to 4 so I understand. Her surgery did wonders for her health. Hope they get it diagnosed. The jaundice can't be good on his poor little system
