Whenever I bring these cookies into work, everyone wants the recipe and truly don't believe me when I give them the recipe!

Simple peanut butter cookies

preheat oven to 350 degrees

1 cup of creamy peanut butter
1 cup of sugar
1 egg

Mix all ingredients together with spoon. Mixture will be thick.

pinch off and roll into small dough balls (about teaspoon size), press with fork in a criss cross pattern. bake for 10-12 minutes until outside edges/bottom browns. Remove and cool. makes between 2-3 dozen depending on your size preference.

cookies will spread out some on the cookie sheet so leave an inch or so inbetween each pressed cookie.

Someone HAS to make this! I won't have a chance too soon since we're leaving for vacation tomorrow (our first one, how lame are we?? but woo hoo!)

Remember that under the "new rules" whoever makes it first gets to put up the next recipe of the week and it can be a CALL recipe or not. It'll stay up at least a week and no longer than a month.

My question for Leslie: Do you use regular Skippy peanut butter or "natural"? I'm thinking of the thread below. We're usually a Skippy family but I'd think it'd make a difference in the amount of sugar used.

regular creamy peanut butter! I've made them with Jif, with Reeses, and store brand. It really shouldn't make a difference with the kind of PB!

This is super simple and they really are YUMMY cookies!

Ah, didn't even realize that I would get the honors! Does the recipe need to be a CALL cookbook recipe? I've only made some of the ones that have been previous recipes of the week. But I do have a good idea for a non-CALL cookbook recipe, if that's okay.

Yep, it can be a non-CALL recipe. Whatever you want!

The rule is that the first person to make the recipe gets to choose the next one. And theoretically it's a recipe of the week, but it shouldn't stay up longer than a month. Just start a new thread and I'll "sticky" it at the top of the forum.

It's cool that everyone's making the pb cookies all of a sudden!
