Hi Everyone!

I just wanted you to know that our 2 sweet baby girls were born on September 28th at 4:41am and 4:43am! They decided not to wait until their scheduled C-Section on Oct 7th and made a break for freedom Sunday morning.

My water had broken at around 2:30am. The doctors had been advising us that my water breaking prior to my c-section was extremely dangerous to the babies because of vasa previa - a serious condition with baby A's umbilical cord. This was a worst case scenario and time was of the essence for our sweet girls to survive. After calling 911, my DH and I jumped in the ambulance and were bound for the hospital. That ambulance ride was the longest ride of my life. At the hospital, they hooked up the monitors. We were so happy to hear the sounds of 2 heartbeats! The next thing I remember were the sounds of two tiny babies crying the sweet sounds of life. Clapping.gif

Keelyn Michelle (Baby "A") 3lbs 15oz 15 1/2 inches born at 4:41am
Kaitlyn Montana (Baby "B") 3lbs 15oz 16 1/4 inches born at 4:43 am

The girls will need to be in the NICU for about 2 weeks. They had some slight issues just after birth, but nothing serious. They are still very small but they are breathing on their own. Most importantly, they are both healthy and everyone expects them to continue to grow without any issues whatsoever.

I have to also give a special "shout out" to my Twinstuff "Big Sister" in Atlanta. She has been so supportive throughout my pregnancy and an absolute rock!

Congrats on the birth of your daughters! One of my girls was about the same size as yours and spent a few weeks in the NICU. At the time, it seems like forever, but looking back I can barely remember the NICU. Sooner than you realize you'll be home with two healthy and growing girls. Get some extra sleep and take lots of pictures!
