My girls are here! My baby girls were born at 34w5d

I didn't think I would be posting a birth story so soon! I went in for my regular scheduled OB appt on Tuesday and thought I was developing preeclampsia and sure enough I was! I was admitted to the hospital Tuesday for a 24 hour urine screen. At my appt on Tuesday I was dialated only 0.5 cm and by Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 I was dialated to 4 and sure enough, my urine screen showed preeclampsia. My doctor decided to induce labor. The girls were both head down, so I wanted to try a vaginal birth. I got an epidural at 5:30, by 7:30 pm Wednesday night I was dialated to 6. By 9:30 I was already dialated to 10! Off to the OR we went and I started pushing at about 10:20. By 11:22 (yes, only an hour of pushing!) Madison was born at 4 pounds 14 oz and 16.5 inches long. At 11:27 Morgan was born at 5 pounds 4 oz and 18 inches long. Both girls are doing great- their lungs are wonderful. They are having issues with reflux, but are sucking/eating quite well, except that they sometimes forget to breathe when they are eating! I'm not sure how long they will be in the NICU (maybe 1-2 weeks if they continue doing well like they are now).
Thanks for reading about my birth story! I didn't know that I could love anything like I already love these girls!

Congratulations! Your story reminds me of mine. My girls were also born at 34 weeks and 5 days and were conceived with IVF/ICSI. Enjoy this time!
Suzanne
P.S. You will notice that I'm pregnant again...it can happen on its own and I was still nursing when it did!
