Well here I am at the hospital, got here around 11pm and contracting every 5-7 minutes. I'm on an IV now just playing the waiting game. I'm dialated to almost 5cm and around 70% effaced and "stretchy" (whatever that means). Not sure what the plan is but with these contractions so close together I wouldn't be all that surprised if they decide to come today.
Yay for early voting!!
Funny thing though, I wasn't able to sleep but 2 hours the night before last, stopped the terbutaline at 7:30 am and then I started my nesting phase with washing new baby clothes, boiling binkies and bottles, and packing my hospital bag (can you believe I didn't do this before?!) then I was just tired and wish I took that time to get a few hours of sleep, oh well.

I'll try to keep you updated.

So today will be the day. I'm at 7cm now and on pitocin and an epidural and my dr broke. Just waiting now and hoping I progress fast enough that I don't need a c-section. Plus I'm starving!!! Last time I ate was 6:30 pm yesterday.

Here is my update:

Everything went smoothly and nicely, and to be honest it was a little boring for a while there thanks to the epidural, haha.

Joel Ross was born at 4:18 pm at 5 lbs 15.2oz with dark wavy hair
Rigel Joseph was born at 4:31 at 5lbs 7.4 oz with blonde hair

Obviously fraternal so I can tell them apart already!!

They were having a little trouble breathing so they are spending the night in the nursery (there isn't a NICU here) and I can't breastfeed until tomorrow which I'm a little bummed about but things are looking very good for them to come out and stay with me tomorrow.

Thank you everyone for the good wishes!!

Pics will be up soon.

See you all in the first year!!!
Phew...we made it.

Congratulations!! Just wanted to let you know I was in a similar situation...I couldn't BF them the first day, but once I got home, things worked out fine. I hope you have supportive nurses/LCs, but if not, ask here. Personally, I was really upset with the ones at my hospital (pushing formula before I got to try nursing so the babies came to me full, etc)...so if you have any trouble getting started, know there's lots of people here to offer advice and support! GL and congrats again! How cool...election day babies! yahoo.gif
