For starters I have to say that I’m thrilled our girls are finally here! This was a day that I couldn’t imagine because of all of the apprehensions I had. My pregnancy had been very smooth and calm. I was expecting to deliver vaginally because both girls were head down and ready to go. I went to my OB on Thursday for my weekly checkup and ultrasound. The ultrasound showed the fluid level dropping on one of the girls so we scheduled an induction for the following week because there didn’t seem to be a reason to rush. On Friday, I was called back into the OB’s office because the ultrasound tech had not scanned a certain area to check other fluid levels and my OB wanted to verify things. Needless to say, the scan came back not looking good and I was scheduled to start induction that night. AHHH, I was scared to death because everything was happening so quickly. huh.gif Friday night I was given Cervadil and on Saturday morning my water was broken. The next step was Pitocin. ohmy.gif By 4pm I was 3 cm dilated so my OB began to check me by the hour and by 7pm I was still at 3cm. I had an epidural that was wonderful, but the Pitocin was kicking in strong contractions. I did not have a pleasant experience! However, at 8:00pm I started prepping for a C-section and notifying family members. Both girls were born at 8:58pm that night. The girls weighed 5lbs 5 oz. and 5lbs 8 oz. My husband and I couldn’t be any happier. Well, sleeping a few hours at night might make us a little happier right now! Ha! biggrin.gif

Thanks for listening,

Summer.........we named the girls Brooklynn Mae and Kadence Sylvia (we used our grandmother's names for middle names)
