I imagined myself sharing my birth story many of times and told myself I would make it long and try to include everything I was curious with while I was pregnant and reading other peoples posts so here goes.....
The day before I went into labor I had a post on here about losing my mucus plug so there is my answer about that question I lost my mucus plug the day before I went into labor smile.gif

I went to my doctors appt. at 10:30 am on 9/11 for my regular check up with the OB. I had been having some pretty bad cramping the night before, but nothing consistent so I was not even going to mention it. He did the first cervical check I had never had since I had become pregnant and said oh my you are dilated to a three blink.gif I was 36 +1 weeks so I thought ok this may not be it it could be at a three for a long time. I figured he thought the same thing because he was going to send me home, but I told him about the mucus plug and he decided to send me to labor and delivery after all to be safe..

At this point I thought ok they still might send me home (that was me little miss I can't wait to have my babies wanting to just go home wink.gif) When I got to the hospital and all checked out I was dilated to a 5 after only an hour unsure.gif Now I am starting to think ok maybe I am not going home LOL

DH goes outside to make a few calls and comes back in to tell me we were going to the delivery room and the were going to hook me up to an IV and give me the epidural (boys were head down and we were going for a vaginal) At this point I realize this was it and I start to completely freak out!! I calm down thanks to the wonderful nurse I had who I will never forget and my awesome DH!! The contractions at this point were not bad to answer that question they felt like intense period cramps and I had no relief because I was having one every 1 to 1 and a half minutes.

I got the epidural at around 3:00 pm and it did not hurt but was very uncomfortable lots of pressure within minutes I was numb it was heaven I started to visit with family that was there and really calm down. The nurse came in to do a cervical check and my water broke so we were very close things were moving so fast and progressing great!!

All of a sudden the babies heart rates started to drastically drop and I was panicking like crazy they gave me a shot of ephedrine and things got better for a second then they said the magic words it was c section time and everyone started freaking out running around like crazy people and I was more scared than I have ever been in my whole life!!! I just cried and prayed that was the longest 20 minutes of my life! I think I held my breath the whole time until I heard the first baby cry and at 4:50 pm Kayne was born and right after at 4:51 Hayden joined his brother. That was the happiest day of my life and I will never forget the way it felt!! They went to the NICU for about 2 hours to get checked out and then they stayed in my room for the next three days biggrin.gif A section is a lot harder than I thought and it is pretty painful after, but not to bad all I can say is good nurses make 1000% of a difference and so do stool softeners LOL I got to come home a day early because I was doing so well and Dh and I are just trying to survive all your picture perfect plans and schedules go out the window the first couple of nights LOL, but I am in love and the happiest person alive!!! I will post pictures a little later cant leave DH alone for too long..Thanks for listening Melissa laugh.gif Oh my I forgot to add their stats LOL They both weighed exactly the same 5lbs and 15oz and Kayne was 19in. and Hayden was 18in.
