    What is your favourite fruit?

I go through stages, currently my fruit addiction is peaches. Just love them!

What have you all been up to? I'm busy with exams but still working (helping my older sis with her business) and enjoying being married (Sorry Adrian and Richard had to add that :p)

Let's catch up and talk :grouphug:

I like raspberries :D Unfortunately they tend to be expensive so I don't eat them a lot :(

Just busy with university mostly. We only have a few weeks to go until we finish our degrees ;)

How can you "enjoy" having a certain legal status? It is like "enjoying" being a permanent resident :p

I love watermellon and strawberrys but they have to be really juicy :)

I have been doing exams, exams and more. The one yesterday my hand was about to fall off, small hand writing 26 pages plus the other sheets that had to be responded too, I have one left not until next thursday though and its only 2hrs and I am done!
Finally got my interview letter for UOW which is exciting just have to put together my portfolio.

But today - I am reading a book, going to sit in the sun and enjoy the heat (for a period anyway) without thinking of school!

Oooh, my first anything thread. :p

I like watermelon, rockmelon, peaches, nectarines, grapes, pears, green apples... I think that's it for now.

Everyone seems busy with school work; I've been at home a lot, doing housework and all sorts of domestic things. Boring, boring. :p

ooh Raspberries, yum! I can't believe you're almost done with this degree as well! Have fun with the last bit! Are you going to stay in Australia next year? I know we've talked about it but remind me :p btw we're going to Malawi for new years so slowly starting to get to all the African countries, soon I'll move up to Europe and then explore the rest!

And I can easily enjoy it. It's a certain legal status yes, but also a new way of life. I'm enjoying living with my husband and just being together, the last year so far apart wasn't easy so it's nice being settled even if it's for a little while.

Codie it's almost done! Good luck with the last few! I hope you enjoyed your off day reading :)

Welcome Catherine! :wavey: I also love most fruits but I can't agree with pears, it's the one fruit I dislike!

I loved my day of reading!! But seeing as I am off until my last one next week just taking a few "me days."
My laptop goes to be fixed today and lucky me have to sit around the house from 9-5pm waiting for the courier to come collect it and take it away! seriously would just be good if they set a time because I have to go out and sign out of school for the last time and return the huge set of textbooks that consume my bedroom :p but thankfully my brother will be home if they come within that hour!!

22 days til uow interview :D

Degrees please Brenda. Don't underestimate what it takes to do two post-graduate degrees at the same time :p

We haven't decided yet and I'm not worrying about it until next year :p

I want to go to Malawi! You can take me with you...

So are you enjoying living with somebody or having a certain legal status? They aren't dependent on each other :p

I hate that. The worst part is that sometimes they don't even come on the day they say they will! I had to have my laptop fixed in June and they told me the person would come on Monday. They eventually arrived on Wednesday  Good thing I work from home and I was on holiday from university so it wasn't too inconvenient.

I like coronation grapes and navel oranges (with really thick skin and pith)

I'm just being same old same old. Work and home. Going to see Prince Charles and Camilla on Thursday (well, try to) and another Doc Walker concert next Saturday (3 in 2 months ;) )

I love all kinds of fruit, favourite at the moment must be strawberries and peaches :p

    Welcome Catherine! :welcome:

I've been very busy at work, driving to and from the two clients we have, but it is a lot of fun, I prefer being busy rather than doing nothing (as we all do!)

Okay, so I'm just telling you so you don't blame me later because you didn't know, my travelling has finally caught up on me, I was in a chain accident monday morning (at 6:15AM) I'm perfectly fine, a bit back stifness but no injuries, my car on the other hand wasn't so lucky :( we were 6 cars in the accident of which 4 was damaged (one written off), luckily mine can be fixed, but it has extensive body damage, aircon and radiator damage. I was really lucky, as soon as I looked up after the accident I saw a friend of mine (Marius - he works with CP). I swear there was a halo around him and the song halleluja playing in the background :p he saw the accident happen and realised it was me so he stopped to help, he really helped me a lot! he did all the admin, got the other drivers details, organised the towing of my car, he even unpackd my car into his! I was a bit in shock so not much help

There was one funny thing about this whole business, since I was on my way to the farm and would get ready for work there, I didn't even have shoes on, so I had to parade on the highway with only denim shorts, a shoestring top with no shoes and it was cold, I felt so stupid  shows you, never get in the car if you're not properly dressed :p

Somebody must have left the radio on :p

Was the client you were going to near the farm that you were going there first?

  12. TwinG

    TwinG Well-Known Member

yes the client is near to the farm, and to miss traffic I rather drive to the farm first and get ready there and drop off my luggage before I go to the client

:rotflmbo: heeheehee, yip it must have been the radio

Lets not start there!! I seriously sat around my house ALL day waiting for them to show up, do you think they did? No! I am not a very happy chap because my brother decided to sleep I couldnt go sign out of school - or do anything for that matter!! NOT happy with them seriously if they dont show up tomorrow I am not sitting around another day I have things I need to do :(

I am sorry about your accident, and about your car but glad you werent hurt :)

So I now have 4 options for next year!! As I recieved a phone call from the Australian Business Academy they wish for me to go there, they called me which I find interesting yet good. Although UOW is my first choice. :)

I'm sorry about your accident Gerda. It does get scary. our older brother was in a 6 car pile up early this year cause some driver in front of him CANT drive. He was the 5th car the pile up and his car was write-off. I hope your going okay. it can be very tramatic. This is my first Anything Thread too, i usually look at the each week but cant really catch up with the conversation cause theres so many posts :) My life is all about studying right now and preparing for another possible surgery for my Cerebral Palsy.. not very well at the moment.. in alot of pain. But will find out when the surgery is in 2 weeks when i go see the specialist. But at least TS is keeping me entertained too while i rest. :)and my assignments.. i have 2 more subjects to go this year..

Good luck with your subjects, and remember to tell us what the specialist has to say ok?? :)

I love options, I am the calmest HSC student ever lol. One exam left and done, freedom into the big wide world where I have to create my own structure. I have told myself I have to get up between 7-8am as I am not going to get into habbit of sleeping til noon :p

The more you drive the more likely it is that you will be involved in an accident ;) I'm glad your car was who was injured.

I had never heard of them so I looked at their website and I admit to being perplexed about why anybody would go there. Their business management certificate has the following subjects (at a cost of $880 each):

    Introduction to Word Processing
    Introduction to Excel
    Introduction to Access
    Keyboarding
    Advanced Word Processing
    Advanced Excel
    Advanced Access
    Introduction to PowerPoint

It is good that you have options but I wouldn't go anywhere near there. How did they get your contact details anyway?

  18. Brizzy_Twins

    Brizzy_Twins Well-Known Member

Yes structure is always good. :) Yeah getting up early is always a challenge too, habits are hard to get out of lol. though i dont feel like my life has much of a structure right now.. my whole future is up in the air cause of this operation. i mean u never know whats going to happen but at least u can have a plan.. u know? i cant really make one at the moment.

  19. Brizzy_Twins

    Brizzy_Twins Well-Known Member

Man i totally agree with Adrian. $800 each.. geeze thats crazy.. and i did more than what they offer at school during my Certificate 2 in Business. It is a great thing you have options.. i wouldnt be paying that much it would cost you a fortune.

$15,000 for a 1 year diploma? Sounds like a money making exercise to me. I don't know enough about graphics to know about what is included in those subjects just by the name but if the business and IT programmes are an example it doesn't look very good.

I dont want to spend that much for a diploma if i wanted to do that I could spend 40K and live at home and do one for 2 years, but isnt that what most people want to do? make money

Code i agree with you. Its all about the money. But far out! thats crazy, i have to agree that its a money making excerise for sure! <_< Thats what i'm worried about when I apply for my Bachelor of Education. The fees are insane and money is definately not on my side. I'm gonna have to work a few part time jobs to pay it off for a LONG TIME. Just make sure you do as much research as you can, and consider all options to find the best one that not only that suits your lifestyle but will be the best for you money wise (Financially). I am in the process of doing this also :)

The world is about money, I hate it. I think its all so materialistic. I have no idea how much a creative arts and a dip ed degree is going to cost but that is what I want to do. so I know in the long run it will be worth it.
I shall do all the research I can, I forgot to say that aba do hecs though, hecs is a good thing really. Life and growing up sometimes makes being little seems easier yet at the same time I know we have to face these complications to move forward. :)

  27. TwinRichard

I tend to agree that I would avoid it if at all possible. $15,000 a year is approaching full-fee post-graduate fees at top-level universities. If you did this diploma and then decided you wanted to go to university you would probably still have to do the whole thing again.

Fees are expensive but it is probably worth it in a lot of cases for a degree. The University of Sydney's (local) fees for undergraduate degrees range from about $4000 to $9000 per year depending on the subject (medical degrees at the top and education degrees at the lower end) which really isn't that bad all things considered.

Hecs is good but UOW has it as well. Then again, I'm biased towards universities. I would also be wondering where they got your information from.

  28. Brizzy_Twins

    Brizzy_Twins Well-Known Member

Yes Codie, I totally agree with you on this one too! 10000% Ive always aruged with the purpose of money. its almost like a curse. if you dont have enough and u struggle and then people that have too much are never happy and always want more. its stil silly how a piece of paper (note) can be worth so much.. just cause it has a $ figure printed on it. Our life is ruled by it and theres no way you can live without it. I keep reflecting on this too, sometimes u wish you can go back to being little and enjoy it a little more it seemed so simple. or you look back and think i shouldnt of worried about kids bullying me in high school or i shouldnt of worried what others thought. You know? but now growing up is kinda scary and very challenging too. But at the same time it gives you the chance to prove to others what your capable of :)

ETA: My terrible typing mistakes lol

Thats a good point you have there :) I'm going to look into it and I'll let you guys know. Sometimes you have to get into debt to end up better in the long run. :)

We can't live without it but most people could live with less of it. I live quite comfortably in one of the most expensive cities in the world (in terms of cost of living) at a fraction of the income of most people. If I earned more money it would probably just sit in my bank account. I have to admit that I like seeing big numbers in my bank account, I just don't like spending any of it :p

  31. Brizzy_Twins

    Brizzy_Twins Well-Known Member

I'm the same way. Im happy living without that much money. Our family isnt by any means wealthy. But we get by, i think you appeciate what you have when you have to work real hard to get it :) I too like seeing my bank accont grow.. but i dont like spending it either :p

UOW is still my first and really only want, I fell in love with it the few times I have been there for activities.

I have money sitting in my bank where I save I dont spend it so until I do its really nothing just figures on a screen but I dont need it its from where I worked and saved instead of splashing it around but I dont thing it runs my life as I live without it, because I want to. I like simple not complex.
I do understand what you mean and agree that without growing up we wouldnt experince new things and learn and meet new people :)

There is a thing called good debt when you have something to show for it :) and uni would be good debt.

Maybe its that I live at home but I think I could live without it, I know what you mean about expensive cities, Ulladulla isnt cheap because its where everyone heads during school holidays. I dont like spending money I feel guilty!

    Main example the formal - dress $330 shoes - $70 hair - $55 makeup - $35
Taking them off at the end of the night - PRICELESS! bad joke I know. But considering I wont wear them again its a waste of money!

  33. TwinPeshi

    TwinPeshi Well-Known Member

It is because you live at home ;) Somebody (your parents) are paying for everything but you are still spending money (although indirectly).

It is a waste which is exactly why people can live on a lot less money than they do.
