Glad we bought the cheap seats!

We went to Ringling Brothers Circus tonight, our oldest DS has been dying to see a circus, so we bought the cheapest seats and headed out. It was a good show and they all seemed to enjoy it quite a bit, though it was a little slow paced for the younger boys (not so interested in the trapeze stunts, clown acts, etc.).

When I was brushing their teeth tonight I asked Finley what his favorite part was and he said riding the escalator!

So glad we didn't splurge on the expensive tickets! Sullivan's favorite part was watching the clowns drive a clown car. :)

We saw it last week. As my bil said in his fb status: "Feeling fully drained after coming back from the fully charged circus." There was a ton going on wasn't there! How bad was the tiger part. That was so not right! So sad I had a hard time even watching!

That is hilarious about the escalator!

Oh and my sister told us how expensive the food was so we brought our own! $10 for a lemonade and $8 for a popcorn...$10-12 for a snowcone!

I know! My DH said he thought the show made him feel crazy tonight...lol. Your BIL's status is perfect! Yes, those poor tigers and lions. They were growling a lot at their trainer tonight, I am sure they have a lot of pent up anger toward that guy. :(

And great minds think alike, we packed a bunch of our own snacks too. 12.00 for cotton candy? 14.00 for a snow cone? That is just ridiculous after paying 20.00 to park and 100.00 for the 5 of us to go, we weren't spending any more money!

Whoa. You brought in your own food?!? :girl_devil: LOL!

Yep-I remember one of our first outings like that...where we asked the boys their favorite part of _______, and I got, "the popcorn." I was not amused. ;)

And my kids love the escalator, as I sweat afraid they are going to get a shoe lace caught...

I know, I'm pretty sure there has been a discussion on the food thing in the Den. LOL.

Escalators make me nervous too...especially since there are more kids than there are adults!

Ha! I was going to add the tomato smilie after I typed that but then thought...really, you can't even argue with those ridiculously jacked up prices! (Well I know it totally can be argued here!)

Oh there has been! I've only been a spectator! LOL!

I don't do the escalator unless dh or someone is with me, which is rare. But man, they can ride that all day!

We have decided to not go see another Ringling brothers circus. We were very disappointed last year. But if you ever get a chance to see a Shriners circus it is really worth it!! Things are not as expensive - q Plus the money goes towards a good cause. And the show was way more impressive!

At Ringlinq, the light up swords were $20 and at the Shriners they were $12.

I was just telling my DH last night that we should go to the Shriner's Circus next time. I go with my class every year - for free! - and it is a smaller venue and the show is more impressive. I guess I was thinking that the " greatest show on earth" would be more exciting than th Shriner's one!

They need the extra money to cover their lawsuits. The FDA recently finned them for 27 charges of animal abuse. Every time a circus comes to town here I take the opportunity to explain to my children why we don't go. I do hope to take them to a performace of the Cirque du Solie (no animals) in Mexico City next year.
