I had di/di twins my last pregnancy. I went for monthly ultrasounds and around 32ish weeks started NSTs twice a week. I basically expected the same thing this go around. I went and saw the laid back relax doctor today and she scared me. I'm having mono/di twins this time which I know carries more risk. I have to start weekly cervical length and AFI (fluid checks) weekly along with my monthly ultrasounds. Likely I'll have more than monthly if there is any size difference. They scheduled all the cervical length and AFI until I'm 26 weeks and then I'll just have AFIs done weekly. She said she's really hoping I'll make it to 35 weeks. Really?!?! I remember the other doctor gave me the we'll be happy if you make it to 35 weeks talk back with my di/di twins but this time she made it out like it was super likely I would have NICU babies. I had my frats at 36.6 and they were super healthy. They were also my fourth and fifth babies. I know she's being cautious and trying to prepare me that they may come early but I see no reason to think they can't hold out until 35-36 weeks either!

Don't worry too much! I've been having bi-weekly cervical length checks since I hit 25 weeks and bi weekly ultrasounds. I'm pregnant with di/di boy/girl. My doc is being cautious b/c of some health issues that I have that aren't pregnancy related. He told me that he'll be relieved when I hit 34 weeks and estatic if I get to 37. And I know the mono/di are riskier than di/di. I know it feels like you're constantly at the doc but, :youcandoit: Good Luck!!!

I feel for you. That's a lot of appointments. Once I wrote the dates/times in my planner and arranged baby sitting for at least the first three appointments I didn't feel so overwhelmed. I realize I really don't have as much time left as I thought! Four months sounds like a while but you think only 17-18 weeks left! That will fly by!!!

This ia my first pregnancy so luckily I dont have to worry about baby sitters. Its not so bad really and I hear you on time. Thinking Ive got 5 weeks till 37 kind of freaks me a bit, im excited but also keep thinking its coming too quick.

I had my first set of twins at 36wk 6 days so basically 37. They were great size and only one spent about an hour in the NICU just to be watched. I keep thinking if I kept the first set in that long I can keep these boys in until 36 weeks!

The crazy anal side of me wishes they would just schedule my c/s for November so I had a date to work towards but I'm only 18 weeks so I know it will be a while before that happens.

Haha! You sound just like me! I want it scheduled, partially bc I'm in Florida and my family is in northern Virginia so I want tehm to know but I dont want any surprises and mad dashes to the hospital. My husband is a detective with the sheriff's department and said if that happens hes going to put me in his unmarked vehicle and go lights and sirens all the way to the hospital (which is in another county) lol.

My girls are mono/Di and I had biweekly bpp and fluid level check with weekly growth measurement. My girls did have a sizable difference though and Jess only had a 2 vessel cord. I'd rather a do be proactive and seem to check them too often rather than not enough.

I agree I would rather them checked than not. I was just a bit overwhelmed being hit with tons of appointments at once and earlier than I expected.

I have mono/di twins this pregnancy and they have had me come in every other week since week 24 for ultrasounds. They are not concerned in the least about me not making it to 35+ weeks or longer, so I don't know why they are concerned. Maybe ask them at your next appointment. : )

I think they just give everyone that talk with twins. The other doctor was a little more calmer about it. I think they just want to prepare you that you're not making it to 40 weeks. I assume the ultrasound schedule will get changed here and there depending on the size of the babies. Right now I have one set monthly until I deliver.

Back at 6weeks I decided to keep track of all my appts through a pregnancy app. I'm at seven which isn't bad at all so far for 18 weeks twin mono/di pregnancy. It will fun to see the total.
