Almost 6?

    I think it just hit me that in a month and a day, I'm going to have 6 year olds.

    What kind of low-key birthday shenanigans should we do? I'm not throwing them a party, and we're going on vacation next week, so no really big plans. . .what do your 6 year olds like to do for fun?

    Mine love museums and 'day trips' to local parks, zoo, etc.

    At 6 (and still now) some of our favorite 'small' memories are:

    apple picking (could do blueberries this time of year)
    long hike with camera
    checklist to zoo to find A to Z animals
    trip to lego store with a predetermined amount of $
    ice capade show
    cermic painting place (they painted ceramic animals and the place fired them)
    making crafts (decorate shirts, shoes, whatever)
    a baking day- they organized and planned two meals (with supervision)
    museums (mine like nature or science-y)

    Pick ___ (age of child) favorites to do: favorite resturant, favorite store, eat favorite food, stop at favorite ice cream place, etc.
