Alternative to Blinds?

What's a good alternative to use on windows inplace of blinds?? We use a combination of blinds and curtains. Just blackout curtains?? Looking for something with no strings....

 

We use blackout curtains where blinds would be and decorative curtains on the room side of the window.

 

We have THESE in our great room. You could also do something like a roman shade or a cellular shade that pushes up or down and doesn't have the string.

ETA: although more pricey, you could do shutters.

 

There are cordless blinds you just pull and they go up. It's what I've always had... I'm not sure what the name is. I have no idea where to find them though. Or just get a rod and rings and attach a curtain, you can just pull the curtain itself to move it.
