Ok so as some of you may know dh won't be home until 37 1/2 wks. I am currently at 30 1/2 wks(measureing at 37 wks). We had a great appt with a different doc in the practice today. He was a little older but very knowledgeable and thorough. He actually prefers if Baby B (Link) is breech so he can just do an extraction, he believes its safest that way. I was told I am a prefect candidate for a vaginal delivery, which I am super excited about!! That was our goal from the beginning. The downside the the appt that makes me have questions is that my cervix is a little softer, still good. But I am a finger tip dialated, I have had a little bit of mucus plug type discharge but not much, def not enough to be concerned about. The doc said if Ican make it to 34 wks he will be extatic(not to say that I can't, bc there is nothing indicating that I won't)but anytime after that I can deliver safely without worry. He really doesn't want me going past 37-38 wks. I did figure out that I did too much yesterday and I am mildy paying for it today. My hips are soar and my pelvis isn't happy. But my main question is, with this being an uneventful pregnancy so far and with what the doc just told me do you ladies think I will be able to make it until dh gets home??

If I did drop no one could tell.

I do think that you can make it to 37 weeks, you just have to take it easy and get as much rest and water as possible. I was 1 cm dilated at 31/32 weeks and went to 2 cm at 34ish and stayed that way until I had my c/s at 39 weeks. Good luck.

I think you have a very good chance of making to to 37 weeks. I was 2 cm dialated and 60% effaced at 24 weeks, and I made it to 37 weeks, so it can be done. As for dropping, I started dropping at 24 weeks.

Were you on bed rest at all?

Most docs will do whatever it takes to prolong the pregancy so long as the babies are not in any danger.
I went into ptl at 31weeks and was put on medication to stop contractions, strict bedrest and at 35 weeks was allowed to stop taking the medication, I delivered 5 days later.
So as long as your babies are handling the pregnancy fine then the doctors your chances are pretty good you will make it to 37 weeks, sure!!
    I hope you do!!!

My twins dropped around 30-32 weeks, very visablly. But the weird things is that they went back to riding high around 34-36 weeks. Can't remember the exact timing, but clearly remember the experience. I was so worried my twins would come early, but I ended up using castor oil for home induction. They were born at 39 weeks to the day!

    :youcandoit:

Take it easy, rest up and listen to your body.

BTW - your doc sounds wonderful. I had a great vaginal birth with both twins head down. But there was a tricky point. Imagine my twins, upside down in my uterus, hugging. The chin of baby B was blocking the shoulder of baby A, who was not descending. An assistant had to hold Baby B up while I pushed baby A. Afterwards my midwife said she has the most trouble with vertex-vertex twins. That vertex-breech is often easier. Just like your doc says!

Just a few more weeks, hope you can enjoy them! :clapping:
