Sullivan was discharged from PT today after just 2 months!

He started therapy in April b/c he was not yet walking and just barely cruising. Not really what you would call cruising - more like take one or two steps and sit down. He didn't walk behind push toys either.

Today she did the assessment and he scored right at 17.5 months old (his exact age!) with a few skills scattered in the 18-23 month old range. He's walking, kind of running, going up and down steps, walking up steps when holding the railing and a hand, climbing onto the couch and other small chairs, has a narrow gait, arms held at his side, walking on uneven surfaces, etc. You would never know that there was once a sizable gross motor gap between Sullivan and Finley. If anything, Sullivan has become more of a "risk taker" with the gross motor stuff. Be careful what you wish for, right?

We're so proud of him!! Just had to share! :)

Wow, that was fast! Good for him!

Another example of babies doing things on their own timetable. :D

That's great! I think I have one that will do things on her 'own timetable' as well. She's driving me nuts not walking!

    Thanks, everyone! :)

Yeah, it was definitely on his timetable. When I thanked the PT today she said something to the effect of he did most of this on his own, I can't imagine the 7 or so visits from me plus some of my tips made that big of a difference. I think she did make a difference, just got the "ball rolling" for him, I think. :)

It was awesome watching them both walking/running around our yard tonight chasing the puppy, chasing my DH blowing leaves, etc. So much fun!! :)
