I would ask if they are momo (1 sac/1 placenta) or modi (1 placenta/2 sacs). I'm assuming that you know b/c they are id they share at least a placenta. I'd ask what this docs' policy is on working, bedrest and delivery. Is s/he comfortable with vaginal if both babies are not vertex? What will the monitoring of the babies be like and how will it change if there is a complication?

BTW- :welcome: to TS and congrats on your babies!

Ditto all that Michelle said! I have boys who we were told share a placenta - Monochorionic/Diamniotic.

Congrats on your twin pregnancy! :) :) :)

    LADIES,
    Thank you for you welcome:)
I had appointment with the high risk doctor and I didn't like him,so I am gonna try to find some other doctor to be more comfortable.
I had question for him,but he doesn't make big differences in monitoring between fraternal and identical twins.
Tell me do you know which week of pregnancy is the best to deliver identical twins?
Good news is that he saw membrane between them today, and we are so happy.
    Love u,
    Vesna

You definitely want to be with a high risk specialist with identical twins, because they should be monitored closely for signs of twin to twin transfusion. My identical boys were checked every 2 weeks until 28weeks then they were checked every week. Good luck! Ideally, you want to deliver after 37weeks, which is term for twins.

Yay for a membrane! That is such a good thing to find! :clapping:

I know what you mean about peri's- my insurance had 2 FT and 1 PT. I finally got to see all of them and wasn't too impressed with anybody but kind of liked the 1 PT. I really hope you find one you like.

My high risk ob said delivery by 36 weeks with identical twins is important.

I delivered my mono/di's at 38w5d and they were perfectly healthy at 6lb 5oz and 6lb 9oz. If I had known about them sooner I could have upped my protein and likely gotten them to 7lb each no problem I didn't have as many u/s as many people in the US have - we just don't have the resources in the rural area I live in. I did have more than just the normal midpregnancy u/s (where we discovered the Duo) and I did have a section because one was transverse, the other breech, but my doctor was willing to let me deliver vaginally if A was head down - he never assumed that position once the entire pregnancy....
