For those with a scheduled c-section did your dr still test you for Group B?

i'm not sure what the protocol is but i would imagine that with a scheduled c-birth GBS would be very unlikely to come into play. it's more of an issue if your membranes have been ruptured for a long time because than baby is more likely to be exposed to the bacteria if you're colonized with it (although being exposed to GBS doesn't always result in an infection).

They checked me for it and I was having a scheduled C. Actually a friend of a friend had a baby in feb who died from group b. They treated her for it during her delivery but the baby still caught it. :-( totally a freak thing but so scary!

I have had 7 c-sections and have been tested all 7 times for Group B.

Me too - all three sections were scheduled WAY in advance and still got to have the oh-so-fun strep b test ...

I was tested and knew a c/s was a high probability.
