The Health Issues forum is a place for everyone to join in to discuss, offer support, ask and answer questions regarding health issues affecting our unborn babies, children, families and our selves. Sometimes members experienced in various issues can be of great help to others facing similar circumstances. We have begun making up a list of "Experienced Members" in various Health Issues, available for all TS members to contact with specific questions and/or concerns. This list is not definitive; if you have experience in a certain health issue and don’t mind being contacted (most likely via a PM), please post here - in this thread - with your own "Experience." Once we have added your information to the list, your post will be deleted.

Thank you, from the Health Issues moderators. :)

ok well i am new to this particular forum. i usually go to 1=5 yr and breastfeeding
    but here is my info

    for me the mommy

miscarriage on june 1st 2005 at 12 weeks pregnant....

    then with my twin pregnancy

i had preterm labor at 22 weeks, on turbetalin at 24 weeks, bedrest at 26 weeks. c-section at 36 weeks.

    for my girls

    abigail twin A born 4 10 and 17 3/4

vcug test done at 10 months
Diagnosed with RSV Jan 2007 no hospitalization needed, unike her twin zoey

    Zoey twin B born 4 4 and 18 inches

in the NICU for 6 weeks
sent home on Aperia monitar for bradys and low heart rates and was taken off home monitar at 10 months old

born with TEF Tracheo-esophageal Fistula, had TEF surgery repair at 1 day old on june 3rd, 2006, also born with VATER syndrome where she has the TEF, renal (kidney) anomalies and vertebral anomalies.
With the TEF....she has had a dialtion done on May 7th 2007, to open up her esopagus more.
She also has to take Reglin and Pepcid to help with her relfex issues
she also has to sleep elivated and still has issues with waking up from choking and having milk come out of her nose. very scary and painful for her :(
just a lot of GI issues with my little zoey
    With the kidney issues
she was diganosed with kidney relfex grade 3-4, and 5 is the highest, at 9 months old and takes sulfa because of on going UTI and Bladder infections
She might have to have surgery to correct this kidney issue
    with the vertebral issues
she has an abnormal shaped t-10 disc in her spine....i dont think there are any issues with it as of now since she crawls and walks just fine.
diagnosed with RSV JAN 2007 and also had to be hospitalized for a weekend with the RSV and Kidney infection

just wanted to join this forum and hopefully meet other mommies that can help give me advice and i can do the same for them

I just wanted to post that i have changed my name from eyler07 to mommy23miracles. I also wanted to have you add that my youngest was born with the CHD Transposition of the Great Arteries. When he was born he had a balloon septostomy done to help blood flow thorugh his body and then at 6 days old, he had an arterial switch procedure done to correct his heart. He was also on ECMO which is like a heart/lung bypass machine or lifesupport. He was on numerous meds including milrinone, prostaglanden and lasix. b/c of his surgery, they are watching his heart for a mild case of pulmonary stenosis.

    just thought i would share!

I don't know why I've never seen this part before. You can sign me up for the following:

TTTS - found at 19 weeks
Endoscopic Laser Ablation surgery for TTTS at 19 weeks
PPROM at 19 weeks after TTTS surgery
8 weeks of bedrest, 4 of which were in the hospital until babies were born at 26w6d
Emergency C-Section due to excessive bleeding - placenta had detached (can't remember what that term is)
NICU experience with the usual ventillators, CPAP, feeding tubes, PICC lines, etc.
Hydrocephalus in one twin found at 25 weeks gestation - endoscopic third ventriculostomy and VP shunt placement at 5 months old (2 months adjusted)
Grade II and Grade IV bilateral IVH found to be the cause of the hydrocephalus
Periventricular Leukomalacia from the IVH and Hydrocephalus
Chiari Malformation of same twin found around due date - also decompression surgery and lamenectomy 3 months later
Also Chiari Malformation of 10 year old DD and possibly 2 year old DD as well (CT scan was concerning so we'll have an MRI next week to find out for sure)
Chiari Twin is legally blind - he seems to be able to see things really close to his face, but that's about it.
Early Childhood Intervention for motor delays and vision problems

I think that's about it, but I will add more if I think of anything else.

I had monoamniotic twin girls! They were born at 32weeks 1day by planned c-section on December 4, 2009. I was in the hospital 6weeks until they were born and they were in the NICU for 35days for jaundice and apnea. They both had belly button hernias; Josie's hernia came at 5weeks and went away after about 2weeks. Jaqie's came at 5weeks and got REALLY big, and the more I did what the pedi said to help it got worse. I finally stopped and it slowly went away. Her belly button still isn't normal but it looks perfectly fine to me so we won't be having any surgery done!
