Lots of new people, introduce yourselves!

We seem to have gotten quite an influx of people in recent days. How about we all introduce ourselves!

I'm Kendra, I'm the moderator of this area. I am 32 and an identical twin. I've been posting here for 7 years. Its a great site for anything twins/multiples. Sometimes people think they can fool us by pretending to be twins but are usually caught pretty quick. I don't get why people would fake something that can easily be found out by the way they behave and talk.

I live in Welland, Ontario. (near Niagara Falls) and am a child care teacher.

I go to Twinsdays in Ohio every year and my sister and I run our own event here in Welland.

I like to read and collect royalty items and hedgehogs.

I don't think I ever introduced myself on this forum. My name is Ella, I've been posting on this board for over a year now, mostly I post in/read The Parents Club even though I don't have kids. I feel like I learn a lot from the moms there, stuff I'll keep in mind when I have kids.

My sister, Kelsey and I are fraternal twins. Kelsey doesn't post on the board, she's not really into computer stuff. I don't really feel like being a twin is a huge part of who I am but there's definitely something about having a twin that makes you feel different, not in a big way just like a secret club, but I guess you all get that.

I think the faking a twin thing is real strange. I never thought being a twin was something other people desired until I came here. When I first joined here my account was blocked because they thought I was using pics of Hilary Duff and her sister. I wasn't, it was a pic of Kelsey and me. We don't even look anything like the Duffs. I always thought that was funny.

Kelsey and I currently live together in New York, we're both students at New York University. We'll be 18 in June.

I like to read, mostly memoirs and biographies but I also like Harry Potter and The Chronicles of Narnia. I love music and going to concerts. I mainly like rock music especially indie rock, alternative rock and pop punk. I like to go jogging in the mornings when I wake up. I like to spend the weekends on Long Island at the beach and I like going out to dinner with my friends and boyfriend.

 

I'm Arlene. I am the mother of Jack and Katie (17 year old b/g twins) Leah (aged 10) and Lucky and Daniel (five year old id boys).

I only recently discovered this forum and I am loving it because having id twins is a lot harder than b/g! For example I never had notes home from Jack or Katie's teachers saying she couldn't tell them apart! lol

When a teacher sends a note like that what does she expect you to do about it? You should be like of welll I'll dye one of their hair so you can tell them apart.

 

I'm actually surprised they aren't telling the teacher who they are when they call them by the wrong name. I work with 5 year olds and its a very egotistical age and even in twins when you call them the wrong name they will correct you.

 

The only thing I can think is the safety issue... if one is doing something dangerous, you'd want to be calling the right name, not calling the wrong one and having the twin ignore you because he doesn't realise you're talking to him.

The main problem with my little guys is that they pitch a fit if you dress them differently, so they're hardly making it easier on their teacher, the poor woman.

 

You should have your older set sign up for the site. Teens are always welcome.

my name's Amnah and I have a twin sister, Atikah. we live in Malaysia and i am 7 minutes older. i finished high school last year but she's working on her final year. this is simple because i took an exam in primary school and when i passed it allowed me to skip a year of school. so that's the short version of it.

we're 16, turning 17 on August 8th.

 

Hi, my name is Dylan and my identical twin brother's name is Dustin (and we're both pretty much just sharing this account). We are each 18 years old and live in the USA. Dustin is 2 minutes older and slightly taller. We both like to play computer/video games, and used to read a lot (Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings were some favorites). We're also both pretty good at drawing, although we don't do it much right now because of trying to keep up our grades in school. We each have some bad social anxiety problems, and sometimes having one another to talk to all the time gives us less motivation for making advances in our social life.

Just wanted to add that things are still all right, we're not like in some constant state of depression or something (I ended my message on sort of a negative note). Life is pretty good. :banana:

:itwins: Actually me and my twin dont. Im so used to being called the wrong name I just answer to them when they call me katie. (Im kasey by the way) My friends will call me katie and I'll look at them or answer them and they'll be like"Yes, I got it." and I'll be like "....No you didn't." I think its funny. Also in preschool we used to tell the other teacher that we were the other twin. So you know thats the fun part about being a twin. :itwins:

Hey everyone, my name is Meghan and my twin brother is Josh. I am six minutes older and we just turned 18. We are the two oldest of five kids and have two brothers and one sister. My family gave me the nickname "thing 1" (and Josh "Thing 2") when we were young after the Dr. Sues characters. Not so original but.. whatever... lol...

In high school we both ran cross country and track (for different schools) and so I'm mostly interested in sports, running and biking, music and random things. I am pretty outgoing and just like the normal teenage interests (friends, movies, etc). We live in california and right now we're getting ready to go to college and all that good stuff... just trying to enjoy the summer.

 

I'm vikki and i have a twin brother, peter I am 10 minutes older than him and we are both 14

Hi I am not a twin but my Nana has an uncle named henry. Henry had a set of twins. Also on the other side of Nana's family we have another set of twins. One set was boy/girl and the other set was boy/boy. Anyway I just wanted to make sure that newer people to this site knew that I am not a twin but I am related to two sets of twins.

 

i am Kay and my sister is Millie we live in Missouri and we are sharing this account. We are 13 and we have just started 7th grade. We play volleyball and basketball. I am the oldest by 5 minutes which is really important for most twins. . we love being twins sometimes. We fight a lot. we are fraternal but people think we are identical so they do not even try to tell us apart.

Millie: i hate being in classes w/ her. the teachers dont even try to tell us apart but our coach is trying. One teacher called us the Big Twins(we're tall) and some boy twins and the little twins so he wouldnt have to learn our names! he did that to every one

Have you had a DNA test? The doctor told mom we were fraternal when we were born but we always looked alike. We took a DNA test when we were 25 and turns out we are identical.

We are new here, we just joined!
Our names are Tamara & Alisha and we are 16 year old twin sisters from Brisbane, Australia. We were born 16 weeks premature so we never found out if we were identical. We have been called mircle twins But everyone says we are identical, we are the same size clothes, very simalar height and weight. Many people believe we are mirror image twins, and apart from our family and close friends, people always have trouble telling us apart. Even our parts get us mixed up sometimes.

We thought you guys would like to hear some of our mirror – image stories

- (Tamara) writes with her Left Hand and (Alisha) writes with her right hand.

- Our hair (fringe) falls on opposite sides.

- My (Tamara's) left foot is bigger then her right, and alisha's right foot is bigger then her left.

- We look very similar to each other but the resemblance is even stronger if we stand facing each other like in a mirror.

- We get pretty much identical marks at school, even down to our maths exam marks. Many teachers may think we copy each other because when we have written assignments we tend to write exactly identical answers etc. We have even got exactly the same mark on maths exams.

- Ever tried playing pictionary or balderdash, we are unbeatable


These are only a few points. Its funny too, it happens quite often, If my leg hurts for example, Alishas opposite leg will hurt in the exact same place. All this is very interesting. We love music and we both sing and play our instruments. Have you guys ever noticed that people can’t tell you apart on the phone? It is so funny.. Because know one can tell us apart either.
We are so very close that we couldnt live without eachother.
We have many stories including feeling each others pain, talking at the same time, finishing each other sentences, when we have 3-way conversations on the internet we seem to freak people out, when we type the same thing at the same time. And we even Hiccup at the same time. Which people find extremely weird hehe.

Just thought we'd drop a line. Hope to talk to alot of you soon, we have alot of stories

Based on the opposites you describe you are mirror image. It only takes one opposite feature to make a set of identical twins mirror. (thats the definition)

Hey all! I'm Andrea, my twin sister's name is Deborah(Deb89 on here). We're identical twins, but we don't look a lot like each other anymore, we use to when we were younger. We're 18, can't really think of what else to say so...yeah.

 

My name is Melissa. I am an identicle twin. My sisters name is Melanie. We do everything together. We are going to be 16 this month. Umm I don't know what to say. Be do all of the same things.
