Quick question. Does giving the babies a dose of antibiotics right before or right after milk cancel the med out?

    Thanks! :air_kiss:

Some antibiotics are to be taken on a full stomach and some are not. Usually it is easier on the gut if they need to be taken with food. No it would not cancel the med out. Did someone tell you it would?

With certain antibiotics, my doctor has told me to take them with food or a glass of milk. I've never heard that milk will negate the effects. A quick search of Dr. Google produced some results that suggest that milk can reduce the absorption of certain antibiotics. :pardon: It's not clear exactly which ones, so I'd call the ped or your pharmacist!

Thanks! I've heard from a few people that drinking milk with (certain) antibiotics can prevent the med from fully absorbing! Better to be safe than sorry, we need these ear infections gone! No mixing now, lol!
