My name is Heather, and my husband and I have been married almost 8 years. We have a 5 year old, a just newly turned 1 year old, and are now expecting (surprisingly I might add) our third AND fourth babies. The pregnancy itself was a shock but when my regular OB did my vaginal ultrasound at 8 weeks and discovered two heart beats, my own heart skipped a beat I think. I am scared silly as I am a worrier anyway, but I just keep scaring myself with all the horror stories of twin to twin transfusion and vanishing twins and blah blah blah. Basically I feel like none of this is real until those babies are here in my arms safe and sound...which is a long long ways to go.

Luckily my doctor referred me to a specialist and I have my first appointment with them on Thursday. I am glad to hear that they will be performing another ultrasound as my doctor's office has older machinery or something and gave me a pretty crappy print out of the babies. I am hoping to get a more clear look at what is going on in there, try and see if they COULD be in separate sacks (it did not look like they were from the first sonogram) and if my hunch of it being a boy and a girl is correct. I really don't feel like these are identical twins but I guess it could still happen.

Anyway...look to see me around here often lol. I feel like I did when I was newly pregnant with my daughter for the first time. I was scared and excited and nervous and just blowing the computer up with research galore. I found that joining a birth club of the same month was the only sanity I had during that time. I feel that this will be a better move for me emotionally and I hope to gain much knowledge from the rest of you twin mommies.

Welcome, if they are b/g as you suspect they are NOT identical. Hopefully they are in seperate sacs and then they will have less issues. Good luck
