I would really like to try and associate names with faces. I'd like to get to know the 1-5 mommies a little better. I'll start with me.

I'm Bridget and I'm 41 years old. The twins are my first babies. I tried 15 years to get pregnant. (7 IUI treatments with injectibles too) I'm a teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. I've been teaching for 19 years, and have a Master's degree as a reading specialist. This year I have kindergarten and pre-k. I love to quilt, scrapbook, collect beanie babies, eat chocolate, garden and can. I love to cook too. My favorite color is pink. [IMG] I am a Lutheran and I teach Sunday School. I love to sing in the choir and I play the piano and violin (but not well)

Here is a recent picture of me. Try to include a picture of you too!

[IMG] Hi, I'm Melissa. I'm 28. My oldest DD, Isabel will be 4 in Feb. and my b/g twins (Gabriel and Abigail) are 14 mo. old. I'm a Speech-Language Pathologist. I work very part-time right now (like 10 hrs./week). I have PCOS and tried for 2 yrs. for Isabel and it took 9 mo. for the twins once we started trying again. They are all Clomid babies. Let's see...like and interests....don't have too much time to get out of the house. I used to do scrapbooking, I'd like to get back into it.

    Great idea Bridgett!

I'm Angela and I'll be 40 in June. Grace and Anthony are my first and only children after 1 m/c and several rounds of clomid/artificial insemination. We were blessed to get pg on our first IVF attempt. I'm a disabled veteran and retired from the Air Force with multiple sclerosis. My DH has 22yrs with the Army and will retire in another 4yrs. I quit my DOD job to be a SAHM and will return to work once they start school or my DH retires, whichever comes first. I will then have 7yrs to be eligible for retirement with them. We have a miniature schnauzer named "Claire" who has struggled with the idea that she is no longer the baby. We are Catholic and plan to return to Florida to retire and the kiddos will go to a private Catholic school there.

I call myself the toolbelt diva because I can fix just about anything. I've laid hardwood floors, tile, knocked down walls and installed an entire bathroom to include the toilet single-handed. This comes in handy since DH is a city boy and we have several real estate investments. Don't ever tell me I can't do something. [IMG]

[IMG] Hi Bridget and Hello 1-5 Board! [IMG]

I am Teresa and I am also 41 years old and this was my first and last pregnancy [IMG] Since the babies were born I have become a SAHM. Before the babies my job was related to Deaf and HoH people and I was a corporate trainer. My babies were a complete surprise, I guess being over 35 is a perk since we were doubly blessed [IMG]

I think this thread was a great idea as I am also new to the 1-5 board.

Great pic of you and your babies [IMG] [IMG]

This is great, I've been lurking a lot but trying to be more active here, so this is a good start.

I'm Sarah. I'm 29. My DH and I have been married for 6 years. We have a 4 1/2 year old boy and boy/girl twins that are 14 months now. I am a full-time SAHM now/again. Before my oldest was born I was in IT. I quit when he was born and stayed home for a year. When he was 1 I went back to work and worked for 3 different companies (1 part-time to get used to working, 1 3rd shift, and the final first shift job) in customer service/phone support. I plan on returning to work once all kids are in school all day. I'm still breastfeeding both twins (only lasted 11 1/2 months with my singleton).

I don't have rights to post pictures I don't think, not that I can think of any that I am in.

[IMG]Hello! I'm Jenn. I am a SAHM of 4 kiddos. Alexis is 6.5yo, William and Nathan are 2.5, and the baby Brandon is 7.5mo. I work part time 4 months out of the year preparing taxes and do continuing education classes throughout the year for the job. I intend to go back to school for my masters when Brandon goes to kindergarten (seems so very far away). I am interested in reading, photography, and digital scrapbooking.

Hi! My name is Nicole and I am 28 years old. I live in southern California and have been married for 5 years to my DH. We started dating in high school and have been together ever since. The twins are our first children and they were conceived with the help of Clomid (lowest dosage). I work full-time in the public relations department of a Fortune 100 company. In my free time I like to shop, read, walk at the beach, scrapbook, travel and spend time with family and friends.

I have attached a picture below.

Hi, I'm Tania and my beautiful, identical daughters are Claire and Alice. They're two and four months old. My very terrific husband, Colin, has been a bit more of a stay at home dad than lots of men as he's been working on a PhD and then a graduate teaching diploma since the girls were born. But this week - hooray - he's got TWO job interviews! If he gets a contract for the coming school year (which starts in January) it means I can cut back from 4 days' work per week as a special education teacher to a 0.5 position - two days one week, three days the next. So, exciting times for our family.
We live right beside a big patch of bush so we go walking a lot with the girls in backpacks. I love reading, end up spending far more time surfing on the internet than I can justify, and spend a lazy hour in a coffee shop with my good friends whenever I can. Hello to all of you! I really like Twinstuff, where having two children who look exactly the same and were born a few minutes apart is pretty normal and everyone has plenty of funny stories to share.

    Tania.

Hi there! I'm Amanda living in Canada, moved here from England nearly 18 years ago I'm 39. Husband Craig moved here from England over 4 years.

We have Fraternal girls Jorja and Jessica (3) who were conceived luckily the 1st try(we're very lucky), and we were doubly blessed with them being twins. Pregnancy woz virtually problem free apart from last 2 months on bed rest.

I work part time as a massage therapist. The girls go to daycare 2 days a week, and then I work one more evening when my husband gets home from work. I'm lucky enough to work at home and our daycare is just 2 streets over so we can also walk there.

I would love to say I have hobbie/interests!! but!! does going to the park count haha. I still have all their baby photo's in a box I wish I could begin on that, but the task seems so big now 3 1/2 years later.

    Nice to meet you all

Good idea! I'm Jen living in Michigan. DH is Jeff and is a teacher and football coach. I worked until the boys came and now am a SAHM (and pregnant again - another boy - YEAH!)

Our boys - Jake and Joe - are identical and came very early on March 8, 2005 at 25 weeks gestation. We were weeks away from trying IVF since we were told we could never get pregnant on our own when we discovered ourselves 6.5 weeks pregnant with twins - shocker! (Almost more of a shocker was finding ourselves once again pregnant this time.) [IMG]

Joe is visually impaired due to being born so early and is quite the picky little eater but other than that we have no issues with them being born so early. I'm on "house arrest" / partial bedrest already at 18 wks along with this one so we're trying to be careful.

Hobbies right now communicating with the outside world through email and watching movies on our portable DVD player. We do venture to the park or mall once a week to let the boys run off some steam or DH takes them into the neighbor's backyard to play on the swingset [IMG] Getting cold here now and with RSV season lurking we may be spending our winter inside again but know that Christmas will bring the boys enough toys to keep them busy for a few months (hopefully.) [IMG] I'll try to do pics but haven't tried before so not sure if it'll work or not!

This is such a neat idea. I have been posting a while but don't really know faces or names and just lurk a lot too...

I am Jen, I am 32 (almost 33)I have been married since Aug '98. My dh and I met when we both worked for the airlines, I was a flight attendant and he was a pilot. I am now a sahm to Josie who is almost 7, Jack is almost 4 and Mitch and McKenna are 19mos. I used Clomid to get pg with Josie, and then Gonal-f to get pg with Jack and the twins. After Josie I got pg very easily but also lose pg's very easily. I have had ten miscarriages. Jack was a quad but the rest of the three were blighted ovums. I lost a natural set of triplets before the babies and the babies started out as quads. We had a very emotional pg with them and went through a lot with them but they were born early at 28 weeks. They are both now doing great. Mitchell still has some lingering issues but not related to being born early.
I just got my medical asisstant certification and will be going to nursing school once the babies are in Kindergarten.

Here is a pic of me with the kids at Disney.

Can't wait to read about everyone else!

Hi! I'm Zoë, I'm 22 and I live in England. I have been working in childcare since I left college at 18. My first job was in the baby room (3-22 month olds) of a private daycare. I worked there for a year and a half before leaving to become a nanny, which is what I always wanted to do. I work part-time with both my families. I got my job with Naomi and Luke first-I started looking after them when they were 9 weeks old! A couple of months after that I got my job with Alyssa and Bryony, they were 14 months old.
I work 10 hour days so often I just sit and relax when I get home, but if I am filling spare time I enjoy cooking, reading, and shopping and am quite addicted to TV and the internet.

Here is a picture of me from August when I was on holiday in the Lake District, I hope the link works ok.

Hi there. I'm Melissa, SAHMama to Colin and Ryan. Prior to becoming a Mama, I worked in various fields as a Social Worker since graduating college in '96. I LOVED my job and the diversity of people/situations I would encounter and plan to go back in a couple of years.

With what little "free" time I have now, I read (ALOT), love to plant and garden in the spring/summer, cook/bake in the fall/winter, lavish my cat [IMG] with love when the boys are asleep (when they're awake she's hiding!), take long walks, write journals, do artsy things with photos of my little dudes and enjoy the company of my wonderful husband and Daddy Man Bill. I'm Alison and just turned 28 last week. Our girls, Ainsley & Sierra, are 3.5 years old and we're expecting a little boy in March. Paul and I both work at home running our baby products company, Noss Galen Baby. We love being able to be home as a family while also earning an income.

We live in Albuquerque, NM and have a large extended family. My grandma/grandpa and aunt/uncle both live about 3 streets away and we also see my mom/uncle/2 cousins/sister 5 times a week. Most of the rest of the family comes to Sunday dinner at my grandparent's house.

Most of our time is taken up with family commitments and the business so we don't belong to many groups but we do attend church, go to our local twins club meetings, have an annual reunion with college friends from Stanford, and take quite a few trips. Our annual family tradition is to go with the ILs to the Dallas Cowboys game every Thanksgiving.

I'm a big reader and, other than TS, that is my preferred method of relaxation. We don't keep the attenna hooked up on our TV so we don't have commerical television but it does come out on Sundays during football season and we watch DVDs.

Basically, we're just a really tight family and love spending as much time together as possible. [IMG]

Hi, my name is Shekea. I just turned 25 last week and I have ID girls who were born on August 26, 2004. They were our first children and were a total surprise to the both of us. We haven't married yet, but plan to in the near future. There isn't anything left for us to do besides that. We became homeowners almost 2 years ago. So, we are holding off on trying to have anymore right now. Thw twins are a hand full. We plan to have another in 2 or 3 years from now. They were such a powerplay that we are kind of scared to do it again. We are scared of having 2 more. Is that bad to think? I don't know, I just know we need to wed before we do anything else.

I'm Angela and I'll be 32 later this month. DH Kyle and I were very lucky and got pregnant with our fraternal girls the first month we were trying. I am a third grade teacher and went back to work full time when the girls were six weeks old. Kyle is at home with them 3-4 days a week while I work. He is a firefighter and works 2 24 hour shifts every 8 calendar days, so his works full time and is also a SAHM dad most of the week. I enjoy scrapbooking and am trying to go digital so I have more time to scrap instead of spending my time pulling my supplies out and putting them away. I also love to travel.

I'm Kelly. I'm 27 and a SAHM with my (only) kids...my fraternal twin girls Annalise Rae and Allison Marie, almost 21 months already. My husband and I will have our 2nd wedding anniversary this Dec. We didnt realize I was pregnant until I was already 4 months along, so after that, it was pretty crazy. We got married and bought our first house. I had my girls at 37 weeks with no complications, other than my 3 week stay in the hospital due to preclampsia. I usually am a voracious reader, but these days my specialty is board books. I love to cook and just do home improvement type stuff and entertain my girls.

Nice to meet everyone and put a face to the pictures/posts as well.

Here is me from this Thanksgiving. PS...I am not the asian one...lol, thats my good friend. http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i2/kelly.../Nov06003-1.jpg

I am Tara. I live about 30 minutes South of Boston, MA. I turned 29 years old in September. I have been married to Ted for almost 5 years. I have Brett who turned 3 in September & my identical boy twins Brady & Aidan who are 16 months old. I am sort of a stay at home mom....Brett was my first try at my first time getting pregnant. Brady & Aidan were my 2nd try at a pregnancy and SUPRISE, SUPRISE!!!! I was lucky...I know some people try, try & try some more for children.

Okay, you wonder how I am sort of a stay at home mom?????

I work 24 hours as a Staff Accountant for an Investment company. I only go into the office 1 day a week while the kids are in daycare. The other 16 hours at that job, I do from home whenever I can fit the hours in over the course of 7 days. My 3 year old goes to daycare 1 extra day while I am home with the twins.

I work another job as a receptionist at a day spa in which I work W & TH nights from 4-8:30pm. My husband gets out of work at 3:30pm so we meet at his work at 3:30pm, do a kid switch so that I can be at work at 4pm. I also work there on Sundays 11-5.

    Life is busy....

I also do the books for my husband's self-employment company on the side of his full-time job.

Here's a picture of me and Brett....I took it myself that's why it's a little close up!

    Thanks for starting this thread...

We live an hour north of Manhattan in northernmost Westchester County, with our 2-year-old fraternal twin girls Melissa and Jade, and our dog Laszlo. And our Peruvian au pair, Judith. I work full time at a med school as the head of the reference and information services department. I don't remember what spare time is. But I do find time to read a lot still, and I look forward to gardening with my girls this spring. I also love to cook, but am really simplifying my life in that respect lately -- I do also look forward to 'helpers' in the kitchen. Actually, I look forward to so many things with them -- hiking, camping, live music shows, and travelling sound really good.

    Hi all!

I'm Rachel, am 36, and Elliot and Clarissa are my first and only children. Being told that I was having twins when I was 17 weeks pregnant was the biggest surprise of my life, up until giving birth to twins at 27 weeks. They are now just about 22 months old and are caught up in pretty much all areas of development.

I am mostly a SAHM right now. I teach a few fitness classes and do a little (very little) personal training. Prior to having the twins I worked mostly in college administration, but my last job (for less than a year before E and C were born) was on an economics research project. I am looking to go back to work now, but jobs are very scarce where we live (Berkshires in MA), and I'm thinking of going back to school to get my certification as a guidance counselor.

DH and I met and started dating back in high school (we've been together over 20 years now!) and have been married 7 years.

I don't really do much these days except take care of kids and try to work out when I can. I've always loved to read, but now I'm lucky if I get through one book a month for my book club. I think I may also be an internet addict . . .

I'm posting a picture that was just taken this morning. I had just been commenting to DH how few pictures there are with me in them because I'm usually the one who's taking the pictures! Rachel, Elliot, and Clarissa

[IMG] I'm Staci. I moderate the single parents/blended families forum as the blended representative. My partner Kate and I have been together for almost 10 years (!!!!) and Kaia and Madeline are my biolgical children. We used a willing to be known donor, and then we did a second parent adoption (which is legal in Illinois) in order for Kate to adopt the girls.

I stayed home with my girls, working only part-time, up until a few months ago. I recently took a new job doing mental health crisis assessments for Medicaid children. I am a clinical social worker. My new job is very flexible and allows me to use a day care provider for only two mornings a week, with the girls going to preschool two other mornings a week. I truly have a job where I can work at home and it's been great. Kate is also a social worker. She works for a large oncology clinic here in town.

I love to scrapbook and have recently gotten back on the bandwagon after being horrribly behind. We bought our first house this year and so we've focused our engergies there.

In any event, I've attached a pic of my family on the day Kate adopted the girls (I'm the blonde one). I love reading about all of you!

I'm Tammy. I just turned 37 last week. DH and I have been married for 14 years this week. In my former life prior to kids, I taught elementary school for 9 years. I was a military wife up until this year. DH left the military after 15 years to start a career flying for Southwest Airlines. We live in Little Rock, AR but he commutes to his job each week. He will start flying out of Houston starting this month which will be closer to home for us. He's gone for most of the week so that kinda makes me a single mom most of the time.
I grew up in Columbus, Mississippi but have lived in Dover, DE, Del Rio, TX, and Corpus Christi, TX. We are on our 2nd time to live in Little Rock. I guess we love it here.
My son, Justin, will be 5 in March. Our ID twin daughters, Lauren and Laney, are almost 1 1/2 years now. DH and I waited almost 10 years before we had kids. We wanted to make sure we had done everything that we wanted to do and we did. Our kids are all conceived on the first try each time which was such a shock to me since I have several medical issues that could cause problems getting pregnant. We have a Siamese cat(KC) that is 14 years and a Golden Retriver(Beau) that is 9. They are just like my kids too.
I am totally addicted to the food network and travel channel. I love to cook but *hate* to clean up afterwards. I used to scrapbook but don't have much time for it anymore. I am really trying to get into digital scrapbooking but my computer drives me insane sometimes.
Here is a picture taken this week when I took the kids to our local twin's club cookies with Santa party.

great thread! [IMG] Hi everyone - my name is Ruth, I'm 35 and I've been married to DH Chris for 9 years. We met when we were seniors at the University of Pennsylvania - seems like ages ago! Cameron and Alisha are our first kids (and sadly probably our last) and we conceived on our first IVF with ICSI attempt which was the end of a 3 yr infertility journey for us. We live in Montclair, NJ and are putting on a major addition on our house so things are a bit of a mess but it will be great when it's done. DH has his own construction company and is doing the work so I'm the cobbler's daughter [IMG]. I work full time outside the house - I manage the product and web teams for the Small Business Group at D&B (Dun & Bradstreet). I do like my job, but I wish I could spend more time with the kids. Sadly we had to put our Rottweiler, Taz, down a couple months ago, but we are getting a new puppy in the spring and I can't wait! I play soccer in a women's league once a week, run when I can, and I love reading and gardening, although I don't have nearly enough time to do either these days. Here a picture of us all from when the kids were 1 (August). family pic

Hi Bridget. I'm Sharon. I'm 42 and I live in Ontario with my fraternal girls Jamie and Nicole and my amazing DH of 6 years, Mike. I took a year off (Canadian maternity leave), but returned to work leaving my girls in the care of very generous and loving grandparents who alternate caring for them in our home on weekdays. I had no trouble conceiving the first time, but we had to say the saddest of goodbyes to our son Michael when he was stillborn at 8 months. After that, I suffered secondary infertility and after a year of trying, we did IUI + injectibles and conceived the girls on our first try. It was like hitting the jackpot. I have traveled a lot and lived in many places, Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, San Francisco, Kuwait City, and Cairo but the best place that I have every lived is home, and the happiest I've ever been is now, settled down with my wonderful family.

Sorry no pictures, I'm just a little paranoid about posting them on a public forum. Thanks for posting this, it's good to have a little bio of everybody.

My name is Trace; I am a 38 SAHM and have 4 year old fraternal twins, Evan & Jude. I am married to Matt, a newly graduated RN; I have a nurse in the family. [IMG]

No more children for me but I feel so blessed to have my boys, they are my miracles. Being a Mother is very hard work and is not all positive but I wouldn't change a thing. [IMG]

I am pretty creative, I love to make stuff, paint, and consider myself an amateur photographer. I opened up my own shop call Mudpuddles; one day I just started designing items for twins and have not stopped. I love it.
I do not enjoy cooking and cleaning and need to be a bit more organized but hey, I have come a long way since becoming a mother. Poor DH, I know he wishes he could have some of the more traditional meat and potato kind of meals he grew up with but I am just not that traditional. [IMG]

I love being outside and get really cranky if I am not able to get outdoors for a couple of days. We love to play in the rain during the summer and mud puddles are more fun to my guys than practically anything else.
And that is about all I can think of to say. [IMG]

[IMG] Hi everyone! I'm Trish and I am 29. I am a SAHM to Ryan & Sofia. We currently live in Washington, but all of our family is on the east coast. In my "spare" time I like to read, watch TV and of course I am addicted to TS. This year has been the most challenging for me. I was diagnosed with transverse myelitis (inflammation of spinal cord) back in June. Basically it made most of my body lose sensation from the neck down. I have mostly recovered with the exception of my hands which I still don't have full sensation. My neurologist said it could take up to 2 years to heal. So this year has brought many challenges. Through all this I have still managed to take care of the kids and keep the house in order. I'd like to think that I am a very determined person who can handle most difficulties, and I have certainly been tested this year.

I loved reading about all of you. I attached my pic below.
