Its never to early to start thinking about Christmas. In order to help everyone out, myself included. What is on your little one's Christmas list this year?

Ty will be turning 1 just after Christmas.

Mods can you make this a sticky?

    Our list right now:

Picnic table for arts and crafts

Honestly they are set with so many toys, though knowing myself I'll come up with 10 more things I WANT to get them:)

We have Christmas and birthday at the same time, so ours get double the gifts. This is what we have planned so far:

Children's Table and Chairs (I got a great IKEA one at the MOM Sale)
Portable DVD Player for the car
    Toddler Legos
Ball Pit Balls (so we can use our little plastic pool during the winter too)

We have a lot of toys already but they are all still kinda "babyish". Also, I know I have relatives who want to buy things... so here are things we're considering
    Little People sets
    A picnic table
    Baby dolls
    Baby doll accessories
    Tricycles
    Clothing
    New puzzles
    Chairs
    Kitchen
    art easel

I know I listed a lot... we probably won't do all of that. Some of it (like the kitchen) I think we're going to wait and do for their birthday.

I really want to get them the following:

Kids table with chairs but I want the table to be a CHALK table.
    Tricycles.
And probably lots and lots of clothes.

Their birthday and Christmas are also days with in each other and in all reality, I have no business spending a ton of money on Christmas. They have family and friends to spoil them...I spoil them the other 364 days out of the year...

Table and chair (I gave it to them two days ago but they spent too much time climbing on them so put them away for now)
    A doll for DD
    A tonka truck for DS
    The Parents music set

They'll get more for their birthday (Mr Potato Heads and play kitchen, and probably two bilibos)

I want to add that in addition to Holiday ideas, this sticky can also be used for toy ideas that you would recommend to those Moms coming up in the Second Year! [IMG]

I'm still figuring out what to get mine (we have way too many toys already and they're only 14 months!), but I wanted to suggest the SweetPea3player. Someone got them it for their birthday and it has been such a hit with all kids this age. You load it up ith kids songs and audio stories or whatever mp3s you want them to hear and they can push buttons to turn it on or switch songs. My DS loves that thing...he carries it around all over, dancing to the music as he goes. When I have it with me around other kids, their parents usually end up getting one because kids just love music and this thing is durable, water resistant, and has volume control :good:

If you think about getting one, enter 25VU0 in the Promotional Code box on the order page for 10% off :)

We are planning on finishing the basement and building them a play area.

It will include and play kitchen with all the fixings as well as a play house. I am so excited for them!!

The kids will be close to 2 - so this year they are probably getting:

    radio flyer tricycles
all the food/utensils for their play kitchen
a dirt devil set (they love to help clean and it has broom, mop, dustpan etc)
    a basketball hoop
a doll play set (the carseat, high chair, craddle etc)
    books
    clothes

last year we got them their own rocking chairs from Toddle Rock and they LOVE them! great purchase!

For the youngest kids of the group, at 12-15 months my kids loved

    Ride-on toys
    Little Tikes Rocking toys
    Megablocks
They still liked the Laugh and Learn Home
    Push toys
I'm guessing they would have loved the Stack'n Surprise blocks sets from Fisher Price (not sure they would have outgrown then by now)

    Basketball hoop
    Plastic teeter totter
    Firetruck and Ambulance toys
    Travel Magnadoodle
    Shape sorters
    portable dvd player

    List for family:
    cars, trucks, etc
    picnic table??
toys more age appropriate (their toys seem very babyish)
    clothes 18-24 months

That MP3 player looks great! I might have to let some family who has been asking for ideas know about that....

The twins will be almost 23 months at Christmas. We got them Tag Juniors (for ages 2-4), and we are going to get a few books and the little carrying cases.

Little People are HUGE hits at our house, so the Little People airport or amusement park will probably be on their list.

An easel (Ikea has them for $15!)

Two of those little kid chairs from Pottery Barn.

Anna has a bitty baby that she is just starting to play with, and I'm getting her an outfit and a diaper bag for it.

Anything Elmo - that little red guy is toddler crack.

Things mine have loved lately (20 months):

    Radio Flyer bike (no pedals)
Strollers for dolls (Maclaren makes a cute one for twins dolls!)--they push these around ALL the time
    shapes puzzle
    little people farm
    car garage
    trucks
    megablox
hop on pop book and other rhyming books
    tunnels
    climber
    blocks
    radio flyer wagon
(easel, they really aren't into this yet for more than a minute)
music (CDs I like for them are Dan Zanes, Hullabaloo)

What I'd like to get for holidays/bday:

    trampoline
starter train set (my son can play with these forever at the bookstore)
    table and chairs
    dress up stuff for daughter

I bought my older dd (who was 20 months) this: http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Toys-R-Us/Toys/Infant-Toys/Playskool-MP3-Player-Orange(0073043) It is similar to the other item posted, but it is bigger, more kid friendly, and cheaper. She still plays with it and now the twins fight over it.

I am going to have the hardest time buying for my twin girl - as her older sister has so many toys that she can play with already.

The two most popular items in our house are the kitchen and the bounce and spin pony.

I recommend buying musical potties and lots of $1 books from Target. :-D

Potties are functional and will not collect dust (hopefully).

$1 books are cheap and if they are destroyed (as they are likely to be) your pocketbook won't be devastated.

I was wondering, when you get them toys, to you get the same toys by twos or how does it work with twins?. I know in every family must be different...

    Thanks

I've never bought 2 of the same toy yet but it might be a good idea if it's a toy they both like. I so far have bought only 1 of each type of toy and try to get them to share it. Sometimes neither of them like the toy and it doesn't get played with much at all. If it's something they both like my son usually takes over and hogs it. He thinks all of the toys are his. I might have to come up with a new system. Maybe I'll try buying 2 of the same toy.

I don't buy two... for now I feel it's a waste of money when they want to play with the toy the other one is playing with anyway... I'd rather give them more options. When they're old enough to know what is theirs it might be different though.

I know it´s post-Christmas but this is for the future mums of the second year!

I got my 19 month old LOs a Mickey Mouse activity ride-on and they LOVE it! It has a little piano and the horn starts music which also starts the light (in the shape of Mickey Mouse´s head) on the front. The seat lifts up and they spend hours putting things inside and taking them out. They can sit on it and ride it or they can push it around. Here´s a picture: http://www.toysrus.es/catalogue/ProductPage.php?id=5&cntr=1&skn=833800

My LOs had worn the batteries out by the 2nd day!

    Other big hits:

    books
toys that you can put things in and take out
    Stacking cups
    lego
puzzles (with pegs on the individual pieces so they can easily take them out)

Also, household objects are a lot of fun here too! ;)
