U/S Weights compared to actual birth weights

I did read the sticky, but that was based on u/s estimated weights only. I was curious on a comparison to the closest u/s you had before birth and how much they really weighed. I know the u/s can be off 1-2lbs in either direction.

My boys one week ago estimated weight was 5 lbs each. My two older boys were both born after 39wks weighing in the 7lb range. My scheduled c-section is 5/4 just over 38wks.

Baby A:
Ultrasound 8/26/09 - 6 lbs. 10 oz.
Birthday 9/1/09 - 5 lbs.

Baby B:
Ultrasound 8/26/09 - 6 lbs. 12 oz.
Birthday 9/1/09 - 6 lbs. 11 oz.

 

37 week ultrasound

Baby A-8 lbs 2oz
Baby B-7 lbs 1oz

38 week delivery

Baby A-6 lbs 13oz
Baby B- 7lbs 3 oz

 

With my younest DS, they were only under by 2-3 oz (and this was only a few days before his birth, so he probably grew).

He was 10lbs, 3oz. at birth.

 

12/1/08 u/s:
Baby A: 4lbs 9oz
Baby B: 4lbs 12oz

12/5/08 birth weights:
Baby A: 4lbs 8oz
Baby B: 4lbs 10oz

26w u/s: 2lbs11oz (both)
30w u/s: 4lbs5oz and 4lbs6oz
34w u/s: 6lbs1oz and lower 6lbs range
born at 38w2d at 7lbs11oz and 7lbs10oz so very very good estimates.

 

I had an u/s less than 24 hours before my girls were delivered.

Estimates
Baby A: 5lbs 7 oz
Baby B: 6lbs 14 oz

Actual
Baby A: 5lbs 7 oz
Baby B: 6lbs even

I had a growth scan to decide whether I would have a c/s or breech extraction (baby b was breech, baby a vertex). Because of the size discrepency, we did a c/s. Even though the scan was 14oz off and if it was 100% accurate, I wouldn't have had to have a c/s, I am glad we were cautious and didn't risk it. Good luck with your pregnancy

 

My last u/s was two weeks before I delivered.

Baby A 4lbs 9oz
Baby B 4lbs 2oz

Actual weights:
Baby A 3lbs 14oz
Baby B 5lbs 5oz

My boys were guessed at 5 1/2 pounds right before delivery... they came out 4 pounds 13 oz and 4 pnds 3 oz... my singleton daughter was guessed at 6 1/2 pounds, she came out at 6 pounds... my babies seem lighter always

 

At my 36 week u/s baby A was estimated at 5.5lbs and baby B who was my smallest the whole pregnancy at 6lbs.

Baby A was 6lbs 9oz, and baby B was 5lbs 2oz.

 

We had a growth scan just days before the girls were born and they came out weighing almost exactly what the last estimate was.

 

Baby A: 5lbs 1oz - 32 weeks 1 day - 3/30/10
Born 32 weeks 3 days - 4/1/10 - 4lbs

Baby B: 5lbs 7oz - 32 weeks 1 day - 3/30/10
Born 32 weeks 3 days - 4/1/10 - 4lbs 7oz

 

5/29 - My last U/S was on a Friday and they said the boys were both about 7 lb.

5/31 - Baby A was 6 lb 3 oz
Baby B was 7 lb 6 oz


With my second daughter the U/S was way off. The U/S was putting her at almost 10 lbs and she was only 8 lbs 10 oz at birth.
