    I love the baby/nonsense words that babies/toddlers come up with to name things and I love that there are some still remaining in my non-stop talking 2-year-olds.

    My favorites:

    Lovey Blankets = "B's"

    Pacifiers = "Di's"

    Cookie = kiko

    Cracker = gaga

    What are some of your favorites that your kids still say?

    Those are so cute! :lol:

    Ours are pretty much gone by now. Here are some classics I miss, though:

    oodoo (=cereal)

    loo (=shoe)

    Undone (=Andrew)

    gagam (=grandma)

    bundeen (=bunny)

    Ivy's got a new game she loves playing, though. She'll make up some ridiculous (and LONG) word and then say that's how she used to say x when she was a baby. As in: "Today you ate bumbumbumbeemzazazazazazazazaza for breakfast! That's just how I said cereal when I was just learning to talk." :crazy:

    Too funny! I was just making a list of words today that they mispronounce so I can add them to their journal. :good:

    Most of these have been corrected as of late, and sometimes I miss them. :blush:

    guitar - mitar
    computer - puhputer
    milk - noak
    ask - aks
    meatball - meatmall
    strawberry - shwawbebby
    cupcakes - puttcakes
    move - mush

    :wub: I wish I could remember some of my favorites. Even though Ana can now say Meara correctly (Meh-ra), she still calls her Mewa.

    The call each other "Ninny" and "Ully" - real names: Finley and Sullivan

    I love the way they say each others names! :wub:

    nammies = jammies (pajamas)

    Right now Karina says things sort of backwards. She says chicken when she means kitchen and check-up when she means ketchup.

    I love how their names have morphed: Annelise was Ise for a long time and now she's Ann'ise. Karina was Kia for a long time and now she's Korea.

    I'll have to think a little more. I should really write these down.

    shoo shoos= shoes
    noony = pacifier
    pan-ie = panties
    uner-wears = underwear

    Great topic!

    Nicholas is "NiNi" and Anthony is "ToTo"-NOT like the dog in the Wizard of Oz....It's a quick, sharp pronounciation... When they try to pronounce their name/brothers names they are: An-neat and Nicklis

    Their blankets are "B's"

    Anthony's version of mashed potatoes: MACH TOTOSSSSSS! It's hilarious!

    Carabba's is "Cabayabba's"

    Milk is "mick"

    Wet: Yet

    WIpes: Yipes

    A year or so ago, maybe longer, my daughter started calling my son Ya-Ya. His name is Sahil, so not sure how she got that. Then a month or so later my son started calling her Yo-Yo. Her name is Samira... Now they call each other by names but I miss hearing Ya-Ya and Yo-Yo, and sometimes call them that myself, for old times sake. :)

    Amelia is Melia.
    Lily is E Thompson. I don't know why they say Lily's last name but not Amelia's. Sometimes she's Willy Thompson too.

    They really can't pronounce L's, so everything with and L sounds like a W sound.

    One of my DDs still uses sounds for animals:

    Monkey: Ah Ah
    Horse: Hee Hee
    Cat: Meow

    I can't figure it out! She can say much bigger words but refuses to say "Cat"! :rolleyes:

    Sita is the cat's name and all cats are still Sitas
    nana = banana
    They used to call my best friend Nah-nee (her name is Nina). I sometimes call her Nah-nee but they don't anymore. I miss it.
    They call all their Uncles "Auntie". It cracks me up because it peeves my brother so much.
    And I still can't tell the difference between when Elias is calling Mommy or money (he loves holding money - whatever) It is disconcerting running for your boy thinking he is crying and calling you just to discover that he dropped a penny or his brother took his quarter.

    Hula Hoop - Hupa Poop or Hupa Loop

    Girl - Grill

    Menards - Ards

    Ahspital - Hospital

    Lide - Slide

    Wiggey - Rigley (our cat)

    Epapant - Elephant

    Conner still has a lot of problems enunciating, so a lot of his words are still mispronounced. The other day DH started yelling at him for saying naughty words because Conner was saying 'sandwich' like 'dammitch' & DH thought he was saying 'dammit'! Conner can't start any words with S or F, so my list could be endless for just him. Aiden enunciates SO well that my list is dwindling for him...he talks like such a big boy now :(. A lot of the above words Aiden CAN say correctly, but he still slips up from time to time...and I find myself not correcting him just to hear him still say them!

    My middle daughter used to have a hard time saying words beginning with S and then another consonant, so she just dropped the S.. i.e.

    Snack = nack
    Slide = lide
    snake = nake
    smart = mart

    It was sooo funny because if she did something new and we asked her how she knew how to do it, she would say 'cause Im soooo mart!' It was soo cute.
    The only others I can remember from all of my kids are

    Mo-mo = motorcycle
    boon = spoon

    I worked in a daycare for a while, and one of the little 3yr old girls was talking about her mommy going to the hospital to have a baby and she said "hosiblow" It was sooooo adorable. I will never forget that. Hosiblow, instead of hospital.

    My twins are about to be 4, so all of my kids pretty much say everything correctly now. I cant think of anything they still use baby names for.

    Puckcakes = Cupcakes
    Lellow = Yellow
    Manana = Banana
    Joosh = Juice
    Omilk = Oatmeal
    Cockadoo = Rooster

    They have a hard time with "L" and usually pronounce it as a "W".
    Blankie = Bwankie
    Livie = Wivie

    Izzy used call Olivia, Eeah, but now calls her Wivie. They say Izzy as Issy and my Sawyer's name as Sawer, they leave out the Y. My niece's name is Avery and they pronounce it Avee. So cute!

    One of my favorites is when Livie hears something (like a fire truck, airplane, or train) she puts her hand up to her ear and says "Listen! You hear dat?" It melts my heart every time. :wub:

    Swimming Soup ---I've tried and tried to tell them it's suit, but they just won't cave
    Ola Bar--this is what they call granola bars.
    Nutty Nutty Ola Bar -- a Nutty Bar
    Gabloon - Balloon
    Sawah - Allison still has trouble with Sarah's name
    Ewizabet - Elizabeth (Sarah's middle name)
    Gwace - Grace (Allison's middle name)

    I have to admit, I am reluctant to teach them the right way to say things just to hang on to this time a little longer :blush: This is it for me...no more babies, so the longer I can hang on to this time the better.

    I love to hear all the words! ours pretty much say everything funny except for Bye Bye - which is normally yelled at the top of their lungs.

    but the cutest word they say right now is "appleies" for apples.

    I just love that they are communicating more and more each day and its fun to try to decipher.

    Oh, here's another - everything that ends with an "-en" sound becomes "-nin." As in:

    kittnin
    mittnin
    curtnin
    buttnin
    and so on.

    I also secretly hope they hang on to it a little longer, it's so cute! :blush:
