we left the girls' kitchen set at my parent's house when we moved here. we didn't have room for it, and it was too small for them, anyway. i promised them i would buy them a new kitchen when we got here (they love to "cook" )... but all the kitchens i've found online seem so short. i know they'll still play with it for a few years... the wooden ones are nice, but i'm not looking to spend that much. what kitchens do you have, and is it a good height for the older kids, as opposed to toddlers? thanks!

Try for a wooden one from Craigslist or resale shop....most of the wooden ones made for 5-6 yr olds would be taller- if you can find an old classroom one, that is your best bet! Those are made for K age kiddos!

I don't know if you're crafty or not, but I've seen several old tv stands/entertainment centers repurposed into play kitchens on Pinterest. Those would be a little higher height, and inexpensive.
