Jan. 8, 1935The King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley is born in Tupelo, Mississippi. Elvis' twin brother Jesse Garon is born stillborn and Elvis would salute his brother in many of his future songs and movies.
Jan. 11, 1974The world's first surviving set of sextuplets are born in South Africa. David, Emma, Nicolette, Grant, Elizabeth and Jason Rosenkowitz are their names.
Jan. 14, 1998Hasna Mohammed Humair of Saudi Arabia gives birth to surviving septuplets, four boys and three girls.
Jan. 17, 1874Chang and Eng Bunker, conjoined twins, die within three hours of each other in North Carolina at the age of 62.
Jan. 23, 2000Kin Narita passes away at age 107 years, 5 months and 22 days, the oldest female twin in recorded history, along with her twin sister, Gin. The younger of the two Japanese twin sisters, Gin would live for another year before passing away at age 108.
Jan. 24, 1973Professional hockey players, Chris and Peter Ferraro, are born in New York. They would go on to NHL careers and be members of the U.S. National Team.
Jan. 30, 1955Golfing identical twin greats, Allen and Curtis Strange are born in Norfolk, Virginia.

Feb. 2, 1585The baptism date of the fraternal twins, Judith and Hammett, of playwright William Shakespeare and his wife, Anne Hathaway.
Feb. 5, 1908Conjoined twin sisters Violet and Daisy Hilton are born in Brighton, East Sussex, England. They would go on to star in two Hollywood films (Freaks and Chained for Life) before each passing away in January, 1969 due to the Hong Kong flu.
Feb. 13, 1875The first set of quintuplets is born in the United States, the all-boy Kanouse Quints of Wisconsin. All five boys die at birth.
Feb. 15, 1905Prolific songwriter Harold Arlen (The Wizard of Oz, Stormy Weather, Get Happy, It's Only a Paper Moon, Accentuate the Positive) is born along with his twin brother in Buffalo, New York. Harold's twin brother outweighed him by three pounds but would die a day later at which point his parents renamed the composer, giving him his twin's birth name (Hyman).
Feb. 20, 1924A pair of twins collectively weighing 27 lb, 12 oz are born to Mrs. J.P. Haskin of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Feb. 21, 1964Future NASA Astronauts Mark and Scott Kelly are born in Orange, New Jersey.
Feb. 22, 1943Future NBA All-Star twin brothers Tom and Dick Van Arsdale are born.
Feb. 25, 1870Otis and Ida Wright, twin siblings of famous brothers Orville and Wilbur Wright are born in Dayton, Ohio. Otis would live for only 13 days while sister Ida would live for just 18.
Feb. 28, 2001Gin Kanie, one of the oldest twins on record, passes away at age 108 years, 6 months and 28 days in Nagoya, Japan. She outlived her twin sister by a little more than a year.

March 5, 1969The Kray Twins are found guilty of murder and each given life jail sentences in England.
March 8, 1984Triplet brothers, Dave, Clint, and Bob Moffatt (Clint and Bob are identical) who comprise the band ,The Moffatts, (along with older brother Scott) are born in Canada at 1:02pm, 1:04pm, and 1:06pm.
March 17, 1995Ronnie Kray, the younger (by 10 minutes) of the infamous British gangster 'Kray Twins', dies at age 62 in Broadmoor Mental Hospital in England after serving exactly 26 years of a prison sentence for murder. Reggie would pass away five years later.
March 21, 1977The world's fastest birth of triplets takes place in Memphis, Tennessee as Bradley, Christopher and Camron Duck are born two minutes apart to Mrs. James E. Duck.
March 21, 1999Amiri and Ayana, twin gorillas, are born in captivity at the Oklahoma City Zoo, just the eighth pair of gorilla twins ever born at zoos.
March 26, 1276According to legend, the Countess Margaret of Henneberg, Netherlands gives birth to 365 children at one time on Good Friday, the result of a curse from a peasant woman who the Countess insulted, and who retalliated by cursing the Countess to give birth to as many children as there are days in the year.
March 26, 1985The birth of the world's first test tube quintuplets is recorded in London, England. Alan, Brett, Connor, Douglas and Edward are the names chosen by parents Linda and Bruce Jacobssen.
March 31, 1898Jacoba Cornelia van der Meulen (Tjaden) & Cornelia Jacoba van der Meulen (Dijkstra) are born in The Netherlands. They celebrate their 104th birthdays together in 2002 and were likely the world's oldest surviving twins at the time.

April 10, 1988A set of quadruplets are born after 26 weeks of pregnancy to Tina Piper of St. Leonards-on-Sea, Great Britain.
April 11, 1963Twin sisters Jennifer and June Gibbons are born in England. The two would gain renown while growing up for their unwillingness to talk to anyone but each other and would develop one of the most severe cases of a unique twin language in medical annals (a book on the pair called The Silent Twins was written in 1986). Both would serve 11 years in prison as adults and Jennifer would die of mysterious causes on June 9, 1993.
April 16, 1972The Apollo 16 Space Mission creates a giant step for twin-kind as twin Charlie Duke becomes the 10th man to walk on the Moon.
April 20, 2002Believed to be the United States' oldest surviving twins at the time, identical sisters Luvella Olesen and Estella Oksol of Hastings, Minnesota celebrate their 102nd birthdays together.
April 22, 1946A set of decaduplets (10 children-2 boys, 8 girls) are born in Bacacay, Brazil. None of the 10 children survive.
April 27, 1989Twin sisters Iris (nee Haughie) Johns and Aro (nee Haughie) Campbell are reunited after 75 years separation on the New Zealand television program, Missing.

May 3, 1996Tim Gullikson, one of the world's top tennis players and coaches, dies at the age of 44 from brain cancer. The Tim and Tom Gullikson Foundation, named for he and his twin brother, raises funds for brain cancer research.
May 5, 1912The Ottoman quadruplets are born in Munich, Germany. All four quads live to the age of 79, the oldest surviving set of quadruplets.
May 8, 1998Gina Han is sentenced to serve a 26-year jail sentence for attempting to murder her twin sister Sunny in Southern California.
May 10, 1957Perhaps the finest skiing twins in history, Olympic medalists Phil and Steve Mahre, are born in Yakima, Washington.
May 11, 1811Conjoined twin brothers Chang and Eng Bunker are born in Meklong, Thailand. The brothers, joined together at the chest, marry sisters in North Carolina in 1843 and father 10 and 12 children, respectively.
May 16, 1919Although his twin would die at birth, one of the most accomplished twin musicians of all time, Liberace, is born on this date.
May 18, 1899Famous triplet sisters Faith, Hope and Charity Cardwell are born in Sweetwater, Texas. All three sisters live to at least the age of 95.
May 19, 1930The identical Morlok quads (Edna, Wilma, Sarah and Helen) are born in Michigan. The quartet of sisters each celebrate their 70th birthdays in 2000 as the world's oldest surviving quads.
May 25, 1993The United States records its first-ever surviving birth of sextuplets with the successful delivery (in birth order) of Brenna Rose, Julian, Quinn, Claire, Ian, and Adrian Dilley.
May 28, 1934The Dionne Quintuplets (Cecile, Yvonne, Annette, Emilie and Marie) are born in Callender, Ontario, Canada. Emilie dies at age 20 of an epileptic seizure. Marie passes away at age 35. Yvonne dies at age 67 to cancer.
May 29, 2001"First Twins", Jenna and Barbara Bush, are given citations at an Austin, TX restaurant for underage drinking.

June 2, 1993Twin brother and sister Alexander and Joanna Bagwell go into the Guinness Book as most premature twins, born 114 days early in Oxford, Great Britain.
June 5, 1981The birth of the world's first test tube twins is recorded in Melbourne, Australia. Stephen (5 lb 3 oz) and Amanda (5 lb, 6 oz) are delivered in a caesarian section by Mrs. Radmila Mays.
June 8, 1952Actress Ingrid Bergman and her husband Roberto Rossellini become parents to twin girls, Isabella and Ingrid Rossellini.
June 8, 1983The birth of the world's first test tube triplets is recorded in Adelaide, Australia.
June 13, 1971Mrs. Geraldine Broderick of Sydney, Australia gives birth to nonuplets (nine children). None of the five boys (two stillborn) and four girls live for more than six days.
June 13, 1986Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are born in Sherman Oaks, California. The mirror-image, fraternal twins are born two minutes apart (Ashley is the older of the sisters).
June 15, 1905Triplet sisters Annis, Sarah and Frances Waggoner are born in the United States. The three sisters each celebrate their 93rd birthdays in 1998 to earn the honors of oldest living triplets in the U.S. Sarah passes away on January 24, 1999 at 93 years, 223 days.
June 16, 1986Fraternal twin brothers Lloyd Earl and Floyd Ellsworth Clark are reunited at age 69 for the first time since being separated at the age of four months.
June 17, 1880Twin sisters Mildred Widman Philippi and Mary Widman Franzini are born in St. Louis, Missouri. Both live to be 104 years old with Mildred passing away first on May 4, 1985.
June 20, 1895Twin brothers Glen and Dale Moyer are born in Ohio. At age 105, they are the world's oldest living twins until Glen's passing in April, 2001.
June 23, 2001One of the three remaining surviving Dionne Quints, Yvonne, dies of cancer at age 67 in Montreal. She is survived by her sisters, Annette and Cecile.

July 2, 1964Baseball-playing twin brothers Jose and Ozzie Canseco are born in Cuba. Jose became the first twin to reach 400 home runs in his Major League career during the 1999 season.
July 4, 1918Twin girls Esther Pauline and Pauline Esther are born to parents Abe and Becky Friedman in Sioux City, Iowa. The twins become known to the world as advice columnists Ann Landers and Dear Abby, respectively, and are the two widest-syndicated advice columnists in the world. Esther would pass away two weeks shy of the twins' 84th birthday.
July 4, 1966NBA star twin brothers Horace and Harvey Grant are born.
July 6, 1890The Murphy Twins, Mary Belle and Mabel Jean, are born in Illinois. Mabel Jean passes away in 1984 at the age of 94 and Mary Belle Crombie lives a remarkable 113 years before passing away on September 22, 2003 at the age of 113 years, 78 days. She is likely the oldest twin who ever lived.
July 6, 1978Twin actresses Tia Dashon and Tamera Darvette Mowry of the TV Show 'Sister, Sister' are born in Gelhausen, West Germany.
July 7, 1928Twin brothers Vincent Edwards Zoino and Robert Zoino are born. Vince Edwards would go on to a storied television career capped by his role on the 'Ben Casey' Show.
July 11, 1851Millie and Christine McKoy, the Two-Headed Nightingale, are born in North Carolina. They become fluent in five languages, tour the world as accomplished pianists, singers and dancers and live long lives before passing away a day apart in 1912.
July 12, 2001A set of septuplets (five boys and two girls) are born to a woman in Washington D.C.
July 13, 1979Billy Leon McCrary, the heavier half (743 pounds) of the world's heaviest twins dies after a tag team wrestling appearance in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.
July 15, 1943The world's second set of surviving quintuplets (after the Dionne sisters) are born in Buones Ares, Argentina. The five babies are three girls, Maria Ester, Maria Fernanda, and Maria Christina, and two boys Carlos Alberto and Franco.
July 19, 1900Twin sisters Treva Pence and Mabel Harpine are born in New Market, Maryland. Each would celebrate their 100th birthdays on July 19, 2000 before passing away later that year.
July 22, 1952Twin girls Mary and Madeleine Collinson are born in Malta. They would become Playboy Magazine's first twin centerfolds in October, 1970.
July 27, 1899Twin girls Gertrude Blasingame and Pearl Due are born in Mansfield, Arkansas. They each turn 100 years old on July 27, 1999 before each passing away within the next two years.
July 29, 1901Twin sisters Lena and Thilda Vangstad are born in Osakis, Minnesota. They each celebrate their 104th birthdays on July 29, 2005 and are likely the world's oldest surviving twins.

Aug. 1, 1892Kin Narita and Gin Kanie are born in Nagoya, Japan. The two sisters each celebrated their 107th birthdays in 1999 and shared the honor of the oldest surviving twins in the world until Gin's death in early 2000.
Aug. 4, 1992Cole and Dylan Sprouse are born in Italy. The two brothers starred on TV's Grace Under Fire and made their feature film debut in the movie 'Big Daddy'.
Aug. 6, 1964Singer Loretta Lynn gives birth to twin daughters Peggy and Patsy.
Aug. 9, 1936The first surviving sextuplet is born in the United States to Mr. and Mrs. Philip Speichinger of Mendon, Missouri. All five of Philip's brothers and sisters tragically do not survive the birth, the same outcome that all six sextuplets fared in the other three sextuplet births in the U.S. prior to 1953.
Aug. 16, 1931Twin sisters, Mary (16 ounces) and Margaret (19 ounces), are born to Mrs. Florence Stimson of Old Fletton, Great Britain. They are listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as lightest twins.
Aug. 21, 1953The future Prime Minister of Great Britain, Margaret Thatcher, and her husband Dennis Patton, become proud parents of twins, Mark and Carol.
Aug. 22, 1909Twin brothers Julius and Phillip Epstein are born in New York City. Julius Epstein wrote close to 50 screenplays in a 50-year writing career and was nominated for four Academy Awards, winning in 1942 for Casablanca. Phillip passed away in 1952 to cancer but co-won the 1942 Oscar with his brother.
Aug. 23, 1904Society divas Gloria Morgan (Vanderbilt) and her twin sister Thelma Lady Furniss are born. Vanderbilt, the mother of Gloria Vanderbilt, died in 1965. Furniss was the mistress of the Prince of Wales and set him up with Wallis Simpson. She passes away in 1970 and the twins are buried together in a Los Angeles cemetary.
Aug. 31, 1899A Stanley Steamer horseless carriage (invented by twin brothers Francis Edgar Stanley and Freelan Oscar Stanley) climbs to the top of 6,288-foot Mt. Washington in New Hampshire, the first vehicle to reach the top of New England's highest peak.

Sept. 7, 1963The Prieto quintuplets are born in Venezuela, the world's third surviving set of quints. Mario, Fernando, Otto, Robinson and Juan Jose are the first all-boy quints recorded.
Sept. 8, 1866One of the world's first set of sextuplets are born in Chicago, Illinois. (There were reported but unverified earlier births of sextuplets being born in U.S. on December 30, 1831, in Italy in 1844 and in Maine in 1847) The Bushnell family delivers six babies, three boys, Alberto, Laberto and Norberto, and three girls, Alice Elizabeth, Alincia, and Lucy. Laberto and Lucy die at birth but we believe the other four babies survived the birth. Alinica reportedly survives to age 85, dying on March 27, 1952 in Warsaw, New York. We've also seen a Guinness Book reference that claimed all six sextuplets survived at least two months.
Sept. 11, 2001A devastating act of terrorism results in the deaths of thousands of innocent victims as the Twin Towers at the World Trade Center collapse after planes are flown into each of the buildings. At least 30 twins or parents of twins die in the buildings, including perhaps as many as 40+ twins.
Sept. 13, 2000The first baby of octuplets is born to Marinella Mazzara, 31, and Giovanni Pirrera, 32, in Sicily, Italy. A girl, Margharita, weighing just one pound, is born with four boys and three girls following on September 17. Unfortunately three of the octuplets die within the first week as all eight are born weighing around one pound each.
Sept. 14, 1963The Fischer quintuplets are born in Aberdeen, South Dakota, the world's fourth surviving set of quints and the first in the United States. Jimmie, Cathy, Margie, Mary Ann and Maggie join five other siblings and are joined by a single baby sister, Cindy, born September 24, 1964.
Sept. 20, 1967Twin brothers Matthew and Gunnar Nelson are born to rock icon and TV star Ricky Nelson (grandsons of television legends Ozzie and Harriet Nelson). Twenty-three years later, the Nelson twins would record a number one song on the Billboard Charts with the hit "(I Can't Live Without Your) Love and Affection".
Sept. 24, 1890Twin brothers William and Edward Driver are born in Two Rock, California. Edward passed away on June 28, 2000 at the age of 109 years, 278 days, perhaps the oldest twin ever.
Sept. 27, 1862Twin sisters Mrs. Vassilka Dermendjheva and Mrs. Vassila Yapourdjieva are born in Sofia, Bulgaria. They would each live to be 104 years old.

Oct. 4, 1877Dicephalus Twins are born in Locana, Italy as Giovanni Baptista and Giacomo Tocci are born to a 19-year-old mother and 32-year-old father. They are the inspiration for Mark Twain's 'Those Extraordinary Twins'.
Oct. 17, 1920Edward Montgomery Clift and his twin sister Roberta are born in Omaha, Nebraska. Montgomery Clift would be nominated for three Academy Awards before dying of a heart attack at age 45.
Oct. 20, 1974The idential Hansen female quadruplets (Allison, Brooke, Claire and Darcy) are born in Texas.
Oct. 24, 1933Twin brothers Ronnie and Reggie Kray are born in London, England. The twins would join older brother Charlie as three of the most vicious criminals in British history. Charlie and Ronnie would die in jail and Reggie was released from jail in August, 2000 and dies on October 1, 2000.
Oct. 25, 1976Rappers and Authors David 'Kane" and Daniel 'Abel' Garcia are born in the Bronx (New York).
Oct. 30, 1970Film-makers and actors Mark and Michael Polish ("Twin Falls Idaho") are born in El Centro, California. Mark is the elder brother by 20 minutes.

Nov. 15, 1900Silent film actresses Madeline and Marion Fairbanks are born in New York City.
Nov. 19, 1997The world's first surviving set of septuplets are born in Carlisle, Iowa to Bobbi McCaughey. The babies and their sizes: Kenneth Robert (3 lb, 4oz), Alexis May (2 lb 11 oz), Natalie Sue (2 lb 10 oz), Kelsey Ann (2 lb 5oz), Brandon James (2 lb 14 oz), Nathan Roy (3 lb 3 oz) and Joel Steven (2 lb 15 oz).
Nov. 23, 1829Ritta and Christina, Dicephalus Twins from Sardinia, die in France at just 8 months and 11 days of age.
Nov. 25, 1981The first twins in the White House, Jenna and Barbara Bush, daughers of U.S. President George W. Bush, and granddaughters of U.S. President George H. Bush, are born in Dallas, Texas.

Dec. 7, 1946Billy Leon and Benny Loyd McCrary (aka Billy and Benny McGuire), the world's heaviest twins, weighing 743 and 723 pounds, respectively, are born in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
Dec. 9, 1998At age 57, Judy Cates becomes the oldest American woman to give birth to twins, baby girls Maggi and Carli.
Dec. 12, 1977Identical triplets Nicole, Erica and Jaclyn Dahm are born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They become the first triplets to become Playboy Playmates of the Month in December, 1998.
Dec. 14, 1952The first successful separation of conjoined twins is performed by Dr. Jac S. Geller at Mount Sinai Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dec. 20, 1858Twin brothers Gulbrand and Bernt Morterud are born in Nord Odal, Norway. Each live to be at least 101 years old--Bernt passing away on August 1, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois at age 101 and Gulbrand dying in Norway on January 12, 1964 at age 105.
Dec. 20, 1998The world's first set of surviving octuplets are born to a Houston, Texas (USA) couple, Nkem Chukwu (mother) and Iyke Louis Udobi (father). The smallest baby, girl Odera, passes away on December 27. The seven surviving brothers and sisters are now living with their parents in League City, Texas.
Dec. 21, 1966Actor Keifer Sutherland and his twin sister Rachel are born in London, England to actors Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas.
Dec. 22, 1949Singing twins Robin and Maurice Gibbs (who join older brother Barry to form the Bee Gees) are born on the Isle of Man (Great Britain).
Dec. 24, 199431-year-old twin sisters, Lorraine and Lavinia Christmas of Norfolk, England, have a freak road accident on an icy British road, running into each other's cars on Christmas Eve. The two sisters, who live in different villages, didn't know her sister was on the road.
